Ha! I’m an optimistic person buttttt I currently don’t have any excitement about the upcoming season. I do hope you’re right OP. I’m honestly over the hyped talk and want to see it backed up by the development of players and energetic play. We’re in a wait and see stage. Maybe this new coach will/can ACTUALLY turn it around but again that’s left to be seen....

Why would folks be that strong on a coach from a tossup with 2 other never been a HC coordinators? especially a week into an emergency hire at AD.

That is just posturing for a disappointment.

But it really appears we picked up yet another no name coach who is about to be in way over their head in the SEC. Why we did not go after a known coach like Tom Herman is beyond me.

The same thing was said about every coach hired since Fulmer was ousted. I have been guilty of putting too much stock in every coach hired to this point. This was not who I hoped we would get. I'm not all in. I hope he has success, but I'm not going to be blindly swayed by talk, rhetoric, cliché ramblings...etc. I will hold out to see what the product looks like on the field. We have a ways to go, and know it can be a lengthy process after 3 really bad coaching hires in a row. Even at that, you can still tell if the players we have are well coached, and ready to play. We will see.

True I thought CJP was the answer simply bc he reminded me of the hard nose coaches of old but unfortunately it didn't work out

Not really. Some of were very weary of a rookie AD hiring a rookie coach. Especially with the hiring history of said AD. Those concerns turned out to be very real and oozing with incompetence.
