Plan a blow-out bachelors' party the night before. Get him drunk, take him to Atlanta, and drop him in a hotel room. You will have plenty of time to get back for the game, and the wedding party will be so worried looking for him, they will not realize you are missing.

Great advice so far. I am actually in the wedding so can't skip. There is a TV in the "Cafe" area of the church so that is a plus. It is also in the state of Crapabama.

A lady I worked with scheduled her wedding for the day of the Florida game several years ago. She asked if I would come. I couldn't stop myself from laughing.

You simply should not have agreed to be in the wedding when he told you the date. It's really pretty inconsiderate if you ask me. There are 52 Saturdays in a year. They ought to be able to pick one of the other 40 without a game. It's really not asking too much.

I got married at 4pm and it was the latest possible time. The church was almost 400yrs old and had no artificial lighting
Not in the fall on a Football day I hope!

I got married last November at 12....it was Kentucky day so that was a no brainer!

I would have to decline the invitation. My wedding gift to the couple would be a photo of my tickets to the game and nothing else.

that's a woman's excuse. :)

[not meant for you really]
i've heard the same garbage as to why my buddy had ot get married during hte cal/tenn 07 game. "it's the only time the venue was available!" according to the bride. yeah i'm sure labor day weekend was the only time it was available. i'm still pissed i missed that game.

and i just got married and scheduled it in the off season and got a perfectly fine venue like a considerate friggin person. it's not that hard.

my dad often tells the story of my parents honeymoon.

they got married on a friday 1970 i think (in murfreesboro) but stayed over night in nashville to watch the vols/gators the next day. it was dickeys first game against the vols, it was seriously hyped, and the vols won big. after the whippin, they finally boarded a plane and took off for honeymoon in new york i think.

skip the wedding. my family used to have a big reunion coincidently the 3rd saturday of october . i didnt go for 15 years till they changed it.

I experienced a similar situation last season, on the day of the UT-Bama game. Needless to say, I didn't make it to the wedding.

As I've told my friends and family many times before... You schedule something during a Tennessee game then you're saying you don't want me to come. That's just how it is.

First: go to Taco Bell and order one of everything on the menu. It MUST be low-grade fake Mexican. The preservatives alone will make a lethal odor.

Second: take large quantities of fiber supplements.

Third: Obtain a large box.

Fourth: Unload the bane of your colon into large box.

Fifth: Wrap and place on gift table.

Sixth: Leave and watch Florida game before the mushroom cloud escapes the box.

My wife had our wedding scheduled for the Florida game as well. We moved the time up to 11:00 and made it with plenty of time to the game. The honeymoon was delayed until Sunday.

I now tell her that I remember our anniversary every year as being the week of the Florida game. Needless to say, she does find it as humorous as I do. lol
