Get used to it folks - with 7 deaths this year at the high school level, football in 5-7 years will be glorified flag/2 hand touch.

Sorry if already asked/answered... Can UT appeal the suspension of Mosley for the first half of next weeks game?

I've got no problem with the targeting rule and I think it makes sense. I just think they've got to look at how they review the penalty.

I Agree with everyone else. Total freaking BS. I thought for sure that call would be reversed. Surely they will appeal the call & he will get to play from the start of the next game.

Absolutely terrible call. Johnson had plenty of time to protect himself, plus Moseley led with his shoulder. What's next...making players where flags:thud:

That nonsense deserves its own thread. What are the options for UT on the targeting farce?

What options does Butch have to protest and overturn?

they can complain to the NCAA,hopefully it will get the next part of the suspension erased before the next game

I'm concerned at the lack of accountability on the part of the officiating crew both on the field and upstairs. There is no logical reason for the review crew not to reverse that call. I hope they are reprimanded but in all likelihood, they won't hear a peep from SEC or NCAA.

Is this before or after the solar flare is going to eviscerate the earth? Quick to our underground bunkers.

On a serious note. I would like to see the causes of all of these deaths. I doubt very seriously that it was due to defenders leading with shoulder into an offensive player's chest.

There was another BS targeting call in the UGA/UF game. It was a clean block but simply because the player wasn't looking they called him defenseless and the block was targeting. It's just out of control and what's being called on the field are in no way reflective of the spirit of the rule in alot of these cases.

Doesn't matter the cause, this is modern day America where individual responsibility is null and void and we must protect people from themselves because they don't know any better.

It's the PC effect. Tackle football will be outlawed some day.

Over a million football players in the country and we worry about a handful that die.

Football is no riskier than many other things people do.

That is true. Hammers hurt more people than football. It's a risk in the game. Don't like the risk, don't play. That's life.

That was an absolutely awful call, and I'm sure butch will be calling the comissioners office over it... the receiver took 3 steps, and mosley led with the shoulder

More people die in bathtubs and on their toilet than in football, should we ban those? This crap kills me. Even with the lingering head injury deaths, those make up an insginificant number of the overall pool of players.
