Tough...I had to go away from home and act like a man when I went to college..why not him? Cut the losses on both sides and move the hell on ....

This makes a lot of sense. Combined with the quotes in this article:

Tennessee's Bryce Brown asks for release, wants to transfer to Kansas State - ESPN

"Arthur Brown also said his son, one of the nation's top recruits entering last season, did not ask Dooley for a release at that meeting. This week Dooley said that the reason Bryce has not been released is because he "has not come to me, looked me in the eye and said, 'I want a release.'"

Arthur Brown said that's because he has repeatedly told Dooley since April that he has wanted his son released from his scholarship.

Arthur Brown said - "But I have told Coach Dooley since April, every time we've talked, that we want Bryce taken out of Tennessee. This is our family decision."

It would be kind of funny and sad if Bryce never asked for a release and that was Arthur that texted that to Dooley.

I feel bad for Byrce but he has to get some balls and tell his old man how it is. He is an adult.

I hope some day BB frees himself of the blood suckers that surround him... unfortunately including his own father.

This puts a whole new spin on DD's handling of the situation. He may have been trying to support BB indirectly in his disagreement with his father by making it tougher to leave.

Per ESPN Blog

Interesting....Bryce wanted to stay. Oh well. Best of luck young man, and now here's to hoping that Poole gets two healthy years to show us what he can do!

Per the Negavols on this site it was all Dooley's fault. What gives?

Parents didn't want him to be here. Maybe Dooley doesn't grant Bryce a release because ke knows Bryce wants to be here.
ya know i have been thinking this the whole time. why would bryce just not leave when he said he was not going to attend spring practice? i truly believe he wants to be here but from what i hear he wants to play with his brother? but if that is the case why not signwith miami out of school? oh well best of luck bryce.

It seemed like Bryce wanted to be here. Shame his Dad has to control him like that. But time to move on. Good luck Bryce....and Poole....I like him more and more.

IF, Bryce did want to stay he vocalized it to his teammate Poole but not the man who could help him, Dooley. You have info that Dooley told him to leave or woudn't take him back?
^^^ This. DD stated for months that the door was open and BB made no attempt to walk through it, sit down, look DD in the eye and express his desire. I have no respect for anyone that allows others to run their lives. BB needs to grow a set and take responsibility for what he feels is best for his future, instead of letting Daddy make those decisions. Bottom line.

I suggest you not criticize until you've walked a mile in other persons moccasins. Like too many today, you're too darn quick to judge and too slow to acknowledge your own shortcomings.

You flame me for stating my opinion regarding BB, based on facts that DD has made public for months, then you make remarks about my shortcomings, someone you know absolutely nothing about. I suggest you look in the mirror "Mr pot calling the kettle black." BTW, welcome to my ignore list.

while this may sound fine and dandy, take it from someone who has a family situation that is.... complicated when i say that isnt always how it works... maybe if he stays at tennessee his parents have told him they will stop interacting with him. you have to know the whole story before you make a comment like this

Still second hand info. Poole is as much of a talking head as Arthur Brown and Dooley. Bryce is in Manhattan, FWIW.

Poole isn't a talking head and there's no indication that Dooley is either.

BB more than likely wanted to stay. That is perfectly reasonable based on everything that happened.

It is pretty much over now. Brown will hopefully have a good season for KState next fall and go pro.

Cheers. I should have rephrased I guess. My point was that it is all second hand info, whether it was from his father, his ex-coach, or the player who will takeover his starting role.

I don't necessarily agree that Bryce "more than likely" wanted to stay.

Believe what you want. TP has already established a pattern of being candid about what he thinks.

I'm guess you are a Cat fan? I'm not saying BB won't be happy there or was totally opposed to going. But he went through enough with his teammates at UT to not want to abandon them. Dooley was very fair with Brown and left the door open for months when he could have slammed it shut. There's a good chance he ONLY did that because BB gave indications of wanting to be in K'ville.
