"Poole said he and Brown had several conversations and that it was pretty obvious that Brown’s heart was still in Tennessee.

“But I think there were other things working,” Poole said. “I’m not sure about all the dynamics. I just know it’s tough when you’re a young adult and have family telling you where you need to go. I wish him the best. It wasn’t his fault what happened last year. Maybe he deserved it. I don’t know.

“I just know that he and his family have decided it’s best for him to move on, and I am, too.” "

Interesting....Bryce wanted to stay. Oh well. Best of luck young man, and now here's to hoping that Poole gets two healthy years to show us what he can do!

Ultimately, all things considered, including family. He is the one the decision fell to and he made it.

I don't fault you for posting this, someone else would have. But it's time to move on. The season starts today and Tauren is here. Bryce is not.

I know. It just makes me feel bad for Bryce a bit, and appreciate Tauren a bit more. It shows me he is truly all about doing his best for UT. I like that. It was a good article. Just a sad situation for Bryce.

Wow, if true I feel badly for Bryce. He's been yanked around repeatedly by adults; his dad, the "handler" former coach, etc.

Parents didn't want him to be here. Maybe Dooley doesn't grant Bryce a release because he knows Bryce wants to be here.

Good to hear Tauren Poole is not a douchebag like several posters here.

Others have said that, and I think it's plausible. I can see Dooley doing whatever is needed to help a young man out. If he wants to play football for us, then I can see Dooley doing that. Sad thing is, with all of this going on, you wonder if he's ever going to be as successful as he would have been if they just would have left him alone. Who knows?

Maybe thats why Dooley aint giving the release. Wasn't Bryce's decision and he knows without the release that the man responsible, Arthur Brown Sr. will have to pay for his decision. Hope he's happy now.

There are infinitely more sad situations than being a young man with N F L potential and an overly protective family. Not our problem anymore.

I thought Dooley made the decision for him. (originally, that is)

What did I miss?

IF, Bryce did want to stay he vocalized it to his teammate Poole but not the man who could help him, Dooley. You have info that Dooley told him to leave or woudn't take him back?

^ This.

I'm still amazed at how quickly people jump when the media tells them to jump.

You. Can't. Believe. ****. The. Media. Says.

Poole deserves his shot, and he is HUNGRY with a capital H.
perception is our inexperienced O-line will crumble and we will win 3-4 games this year. that's good for us imo. I think Poole and our offense will surprise a lot of people. we truly have nothing to lose, and we'll sneak up on lots of teams.

Ha, seems like even Poole disagrees with the majority of VN on that.

I applaud Poole for putting team before self in trying to get Brown to stay.

I think the consensus was that Dooley left the door open. Without some of the promises made by kiffin. Also that he would have to work his way back into playing time. None of which sat to well with his family. It was up to BB to handle his own family. He is old enough to decide where he goes. But to be that man, you have to be that man.

Bryce's daddy is calling the shots now. Oh well.

happens to Tennessee a lot in recruiting. kids are real interested in coming to Tennessee but parents have a say about where they go, Peter White at Maryland is a prime example. Wanted to be here..

It is the nature of Tennessee recruiting. We ahve to go outside state to get kids which means in many instances, family has influence on selections... If UT is equal or close to another school clsoe to Mom and Dad, we lose most of the time.

because he recognizes that we are a better team with both of them.
