Since when did Lane start telling every Quarterback in the Nation his services arn't needed? I really think he could have been a very good player in 2-3 years here. We better be getting Murray, or Mettenberger.

Going off his stats, he looked pretty awful...

I doubt we get anyone in this class though, it looks like next year is our QB class.

Being his first year Kiffin is not going to take a guy that may take 2-3 years. Reason being, if he don't get one this year he has his goals for one next year that would be better.Scolly better used elsewhere for this class.

You would think a fromer QB, a OC and HC can tell which QB would work for his system. You have to trust that. Besides, you see what QB's did to Fulmer this year.....

I feel like Fulmer's methodology to recruiting was not structured and was a throw as much against the wall and see what sticks. Lane's approach is much more methodical and focused. I like that. I understand these are kids and they are not pros (yet), but recruiting someone who could play WR, DE, or SS, like the Rod Wilks experience, makes no sense. Recruit a kid for what he is.

I have to agree. Kiffin will look for someone he thinks will make an impact very quickly.

I didn't mean to say Bryce would be our starter in 2-3 years, I'm saying he could be a decent QB in 2-3 years. Jim Bob Cooter style. Ride the pine, but I'd rather have a fresh, and younger bad QB than an older more experienced bad QB. (Crapton)

Your confused as to why we didn't give a scholarship to a QB that even you concede would never start? Crompton will hold the cords and Stephens will signal in the plays. What would Petty do? Is he a top notch place kick holder?

It would be a wasted scholarship.

Crompton and Stephens will be gone, you can have 4 quarterbacks on scholarship, and as a freshman unless he is a 4-5 star, and a proven winner/full of talent, he will sit for a couple years especially behind a senior, junior, and sophomore. All I'm saying is if we arn't going after a QB at least get a decent one, with good size, you can redshirt and try to mold and at least have a decent backup for emergencies.

Wow, that is a pretty rough schedule. Only gimmes I see are UAB and Memphis. Even Vandy and Kentucky will be much improved by then.

Ouch. Very rugged schedule. At least we have a bye before Bama. I'm sure we'll be banged up after roadtrips to UGA and LSU.

Then again, we have a very easy schedule to make up for it next year, don't we?

Yeah, which is why I mentioned the 2010 schedule, because we need to get a QB experience before that awful 2010 schedule. If we play Crompton all next year, then whoever we bring in from next years recruiting class will be playing the 2010 schedule as a true freshman with no experience.

Yeah, looks pretty tough. Looks like five straight wins to finish plus UAB as a gimme. Front loaded with the exception of UAB.
