Calm down, it's not that bad even if we don't win.
I've seen it happen before, but the cognitive dissonance has gotten so bad here I didn't see the point of mentioning that the penalties for minor violations of amateurism can be punished with less than the loss of amateur status.

UT officials wouldn't comment on the specifics of the ruling, however, a repayment of any extra benefits Brown may have received when he was in high school and a one- or two-game suspension at UT are possible, but that is considered a worst-case scenario

Still would be bs, but not too bad.

As I said last night, no need to go off the deep end before the facts are known. Furthermore, all those of you who were on here last night saying it was all or nothing regarding Brown's status, just goes to show you have no idea what you're talking about. Anyone wanna man up and admit you were wrong?

so what is being appealed exactly?

Apparently the NCAA has already made a ruling about Brown's case (presumably a short suspension based on the KNS article), although the specifics aren't being discussed by our athletic department as they are trying to appeal this initial ruling.

Hamilton stated on 104.5 this morning, that they have known about this for awhile, and never released the information. Makes you wonder if they had a feeling about the ruling not being very stiff. You would think if they thought it would be, Brown would not be in the backfield as much in practice, and someone else would be getting his snaps. We are breathing a sigh of relief, while the staff is pissed he is gonna miss a game or two. And that is the reason for the appeal. I guess. All my opinion.

Where are all the know it all's that were claiming last night that BB's playing status would be all or nothing ? Just goes to show how much some of you people really know... Anyone man enough to admit they were totally wrong ? If so you have my respect. If not you should do everyone here a favor and keep your mouth shut.

What happened to the whole being certified as an amateur before he could even be recruited. How did he certified then?

How do you fight the NCAA?

I don't agree with 1 or 2 games, but what does an appeal do?

The NCAA would be admitting they were wrong with their first ruling. Hard to imagine them doing that.

Hat, your background helps in a situation like this, am I dead wrong?

If we don't have him for the first two then he's going to be pretty much useless for the 3rd game. Kiffin may see it differently, but you don't want to just start giving him responsibility in the Swamp. Unless of course we're already down three touchdowns. Then the experience is worth the trouble.
