Bryce Brown isn't going anywhere

I haven't been on in a while but could have squashed this. Bryce comes into the restaurant I work at almost every Tue and Wed to eat and sits in my section. He will be and always has been all Vol.

Dude, could you please get off your computer and get me a Stella. I'm the guy in the booth.... :)

Didnt think Bryce was going anywhere anyway. I know Kiffin is pretty much why he came here but unless its a family situtation or just an all out fall out with a coach, why would someone with crazy talent give up a year of eligibility? Good info anyway, thanks L.V

He loves the color orange.

Has Brown scheduled a presser yet for the announcement that he's decided to stay at UT?

if he transfers it will stink, but this is a position we actually are deep at and wouldn't be really hurt by the loss...it would hurt him more than us.

Any time you lose an elite talent, it hurts. Period.

well, I am glad Brown decided not to transfer. I liked him as a player and from my understanding he is a good person. I think he was one of the main ones getting Jackson and the others going to FCA after their little mishap...

Hi Vol Fans, Kansas State fan here.

I wanted to come over here and check out any Bryce Brown discussion. I was curious as to what was being speculated throughout the Vol fanbase.

I see that most have thought they heard from one person or another that Bryce decided to stay. I hope that is true for your team for he is an amazing athlete. Sadly, the word in Kansas is a bit different.

Apparently he is waiting this out through Spring to finish the semester and to continue training. Now I'm not saying he is transfering, but a lot of sources have said if Arthur was going to transfer then Bryce would be coming too (especially after the Kiffin debacle which I hated to see that happen to a respectable fanbase).

Apparently some of the players currently on the KSU football team (Chris Harper and Daniel Thomas) have rumored that Bryce will be coming too. These guys have been known to be "jokesters" so it should be taken with a grain of salt. The only reason it leaves KSU fans hopeful is because Chris Harper (transfer from Oregon) is very good friends with the Brown brothers (all from Wichita, KS).

This could possibly look good for Bryce for a few reasons:
1) He could join Chris and Arthur
2) He could still have 3 years of eligibility
3) After his year of sitting out, he would most likely fill the shoes of Daniel Thomas

Like I said, for you I hope he stays. Of course I would love to see him come back home and play for Snyder.

I don't see this "rumor/speculation" coming to a close until summer. If I was Bryce, why would I want Vol fans to think I was speculating on leaving? That would make for a stress-filled 2nd half of the Spring semester.

Idiots on ESPN Insider are stirring the pot also...see below:

Replacements for Brown
4:25PM ET

Tennessee Volunteers - We told you earlier this week about the possibility that Tennessee tailback Bryce Brown could transfer to Kansas State in order to be reunited with his brother, Arthur, who recently decided to transfer there from Miami.

While it's still way too early to tell if Brown will decide to transfer, or if K-State would be his destination if he did, who would fill the void for the Vols at tailback if Brown were to leave?

There are three guys you might want to keep an eye on: Tauren Poole, Toney Williams and David Oku. Chris Low explains why:

SEC position battles to watch this spring

"The guy to watch is junior Tauren Poole, who didn't get much of a chance under the previous staff. He's got to watch his fumbling. Redshirt freshman Toney Williams was extremely impressive last spring before tearing his ACL in summer workouts, while sophomore David Oku is a guy who can catch it and run it."

they also said that Montario Hardesty would be most likely to replace Bryce Brown as the starter this coming season, and that he might start regardless of where Brown is.

BB is not transferring. His #1 goal from Day 1 was to get to the NFL. Transferring delays that for yet another year. BB loves it in Knoxville and at UT. The media idiots are just looking for a headline during this "dead time" of college football news. He has the same OC (Chaney), who is now also his position coach, that he had last year. He knows where he will fit in and be used. The only way transferring crosses his mind is if he doesnt perform well enough to earn the #1 or #2 spot in the RB rotation. If he wanted to play at KSU, he would have went there out of high school. If playing with Arthur meant that much to him.....he could have done that at UM last year. But he didnt. His road to the NFL would be a lot harder at KSU than at UT. He knows that. This kid isnt dumb. Everyone is freaking out about a complete NON story.

Transferring doesn't delay NFL entry for a year. The rule is 3 years out of high school, just look at Knowshon Moreno as an example of a RS Soph RB who made it to the first round. And why would it be harder to make it in the pros at K-state? They had that Freeman QB get drafted recently... and Suh isn't getting knocked down the draft boards because he didn't play in the SEC.

I don't think he will transfer, but your reasoning seems a bit off to me.

Just for the sake of asking, if a player goes through spring practice, doesnt that mean they have been on the roster THIS year and would have to sit out NEXT year?

So....you think sitting out a year, not playing football at all....would have no effect on his ability to turn pro after his Junior year? I know it is based on 3 years removed from school, that is why Sam Bradford could have went pro after his RS Sophomore year. My point was, sitting on his butt for a year would most likely delay his NFL goal for an additional year cause that first year back he wouldnt be at the level/physical condition to have the break out season it would take to make him a 1st round consideration. He would also then be at KSU....IMHO, 1,000 yards in that league doesnt hold as much prestige as the same amount against SEC defenses. I get your point though, probably should have explained what I meant more thoroughly.

Bryce and Arthur were being recruited by then head coach Ron Prince. Ron Prince was a jerk who cut ties to any and all recruits in the state of Kansas.

When Snyder came back as head coach, Arthur was already at Miami, and Bryce was then committed to Miami. The stability within' the program was very weak, and the outlook for the coming season was unpredictable.

Why did Bryce not go to Miami? Well, through the Grapevine Arthur already disliked Miami. Also, Bryce liked the idea of Kiffin as head coach with Tennessee. If Kiffin was not head coach, Bryce would not have chosen Tennessee. Anymore high caliber players pick the schools with great coaches, not for the school itself.

Also, Snyder has done well at putting guys in the NFL. Three of his former players were in the past Super Bowl.

You are going to say, with a straight face, that because Bryce Brown was from Kansas Prince did not recruit him and did not want him at Kansas State? Seriously? He did not want the #1 player in the country just because he lived in Kansas.

Don't buy any of it.

Bryce will come out and show why he was the #1 recruit this fall and will gain over 1,000 yards against real competition this year in Orange.

Bryce knows SEC is the real deal and the the Big 12 is the JV league.

Good luck in the ultra competitive Big 12 North:crazy:
