Bryce Brown Gone

Tennessee fans when new recruit comes in: He's going to be awesome. The next Pickens/Manning/Lewis, etc.

Tennessee fans when he leaves: BLAH, HE WADN'T NO GOOD. WE DON'T NEED HIM. GO BIG ORANGE!!!!!!!!!!

I imagine it's like that at most other schools also.

I wish BB the best where ever he goes unless its USC then I think that is just bad. But if he goes to kansas St to play with his brother good luck to him. But I think sometimes these kids need to sit back and think and quit letting others make decisions for them.

I'd beg to differ. Not that other schools' fans don't react like that. They do. It just seems like a lot of fans for Tennessee do it a lot more than other schools.

go talk to people at other schools (and not on the internet) and report back. East coast/West coast/South it really makes no difference

If true, it's probably because we aren't exactly stacked with elite talent and haven't been for several years, so when we lose one, it hurts worse than it does at Alabama, Florida, etc.

That's true. I usually end up arguing with those who predict new comers will beat out more experienced players. For instance, I was in the minority that predicted BB would not beat Hardesty out.

I don't judge anything but potential until a guy proves it. Brown has a ton of potential but he didn't look like an elite back last year.

I'm sure he would have ended up having a good career at Tennessee, but the truth is that he won't truly be THAT missed. I say that because of our solid stable of backs already on the roster. Williams, Oku, and Poole don't leave me too worried about our running game. Also, we just got a solid RB freshman.
It would be a much bigger loss to lose someone like Douglas, or Janzen Jackson.

You all can bad mouth him all you want--I'd love for him to stay as I think he can help the Vols and the Vols can help him. It's rather petty to act like this is a simple matter for him--there's probably more to it than we realize and it's a tough time for him.

I hope he stays.

So true! People on here before were praising him, now their bashing him. He's a talented athlete that could've helped Tennessee. I hope he does stay, if not, I wish him the best of luck.

So is BB gone for sure or what?
I really hope he stays around. Its sad how everyone is throwing this kid under the bus and saying he is overrated. He was a freshman playing behind a patchwork line and still put up respectable numbers in a limited role against some of the best defenses in the nation. I know that we are deep at his position but its crazy to think it won't hurt to lose him. He has more game experience than any of our other backs and I may be in the minority but I think he has more talent/upside than any of the others and its really not even close.

I hope he stays. He can do a lot for Tennessee and Tennessee can do a lot for him. It is obvious that this has been brewing for some time now. There is some kind of issue and home and him being on Rocky Top isn't helping the matter. His brother transferred to be closer to home. Maybe he will too. Maybe his brother being closer to home will help being closer to home. Then you take into account he is a freshman in a school a long way from home I'm sure hme sickness is playing a role here too. The coaching staff needs to step up and rally around him and do whatever they can to help the young man out. That would be the example to set for the team. That no matter the problem the coaches are there to help if they can. And they very well maybe behind the scenes do what they can for him. It won't hurt Bryce to miss spring practice. With his talent he'll catch up quickly. I don't think he is going to want to sit out a year if he transfers. So I'd look for him to go to a 1AA school if he doesn't go to K State to be with his brother. Either way we should support him and wish him nothing but luck in whatever future he chooses. GBO

I really hope that Bryce stays. For some reason I think in the end he stays. Regardless, I wish him the best of luck and as always.....Go Vols!

Some of you guys need to reach in that top right hand dresser drawer, pull out a pair of your big girl panties and realize this isn't the end of the world. When you change coaches sometimes players leave. How many left last year when CLK got here and how many did he run off.
If BB wants to give live near his child then who in the hell can blame him. I love TN but if my child was in Kansas TN would be a memory. This isn't CDD's fault its just something that happens.

It's like that everywhere. You live in Knoxville and post on this board quite a bit, so of course you notice it going on more here. But it is no worse/better here or anywhere else.

This.

around campus they're saying that he got his gf pregnant and wants to move back home with her so the family can take care of it or something.

he'll be transferring to Wichita State

I don't want to read through all the pages to see if somebody posted anything about WSU, but I'd like to point out that they have been undefeated since 1986... :)

(sorry if somebody else already mentioned this!)
