Bryce Brown Fumbling Problems?

I watched Wed. practice highlights on utsports.com and Kiffin said that Bryce put the ball on the ground twice. I realize its the first time he has been hit by a real SEC LB (Rico) but is this going to become a problem for such a highly recruited RB.

Way too early.

Also, I don't think Rico was supposed to blow him up, so it was probably unexpected.

He carried the ball very loose in high school, because he could. Can't do that in the SEC though. He'll learn that really soon.

It's better that he's fumbling now in practice than in the games later and not learning about ball security until then. If Fulmer was still the coach, you can bet he wouldn't learn to carry the ball high and tight until it's too late, due to soft practices.

he's fresh out of high school and it's one of his very first practices. don't look into it too much

I'd rather him fumble now, than is critical times in actual games. I'm pretty tired of having to watch that happen over the last few years.

BB will be fine, I am sure he has learned now to hold that ball like he's carrying a fifth of Jack Daniels thru Vol fans on gameday.

It's because he's from Kansas and not California/Florida/Texas

it was thte only knock on him here in Wichita...but with Gran the Man working with him I am sure he will be fine. He just hasn't had to get hit that much...no one could touch him.

Why would he not blow him up? I thought that they were supposed to be popping pads.. That is the way the coaching staff wanted it right? ..I imagine he didn't get popped like that in Kansas..Welcome to the SEC.. :)
He will get used to it though.. Give him time

Very astute observation 3 days into practice. Yes it is going to be a problem. He never had the problem in high school but then again it was Kansas. He was not anticipating the speed, quickness, and strength of SEC LB’s and is now second guessing his decision. I have sources that say he is unhappy and wants to transfer to a Big 12 program where they play no defense.
