Brown will be breaking out the #5 in Knoxville. Optimistic I know.

no #5 has already been taken as well. TP wore that # in H.S. and i asked him over the summer if he was going to change from 28 to 5 and he said no that it had already been spoken for.

also as far as the coaching staff is concerned BB is gone. if he decides otherwise fine but they have not made any moves toward re-recruiting him to join the team and by what i've been told they have not had any contact with him since he went home to Kansas.

I 100% concur with this statement. exactly what I've heard as well.

BB has more potential than either of them, and we need all the help we can get. This year will not be pretty. The more depth, the better.

Hopefully it was due to the hip problem, but from what I saw last yr. you're wrong. He just didn't have that burst.

BB is an above average STUDENT athlete with great potential. He is a smart to weigh his options to protect his future.

After the recent events off the field on the strip, he may actually be a person of good character (that we want) that is having a hard time fitting in with his fellow teammates (the thugs).

Food for thought...

Whether he stays or goes I look foward to a great season of TN FOOTBALL

:D

Be careful not to group the entire team as thugs. We have several high character guys on this team. Chris Walker, Nick Reveiz, Luke Stocker, just to name a few.

Three words I hate to even know I know -- Bryce Brown and Kiffin. Let's make a law that these words are not printed or spoken of again. If Brown hasn't made a decision by now, why would anyone want him on this football team?

Add Ambles to that list.

Agreeded TN has great student athletes that possess good character traits in the football program.

How does the saying go "one bad apple can spoil the bunch."

Those few bad apples (the thugs) can cause others to spoil. DD will continue to clean up program the which is the upside.

You people think he is just sitting on his ass? No way, I guarantee he has been working with a personal trainer. He will be in football shape come football season, regardless of where he is. Playing or not.

What trainer? he evidently is not with UT or KSU so he doesn't have a trainer and if you remember correctly his family doesn't have any money to get a good trainer because bryce got in trouble for a stupid fund raiser to take him and some other recruits around to other colleges. i say he is out of shape imo

I was thinking about it, if BB somehow did return wouldn't that hurt us with Justice Hayes and Tom Smith?

It may be best at this point he not come back, as much as it pains me to say it.

I have a question, we have 2-3 weeks before practice, which means we have 4-5 weeks before fall semester to start ( I think). Wouldn't somone have to be enrolled in the college they were wanting to go to soon. So if BB is transfering wouldn't he be in the process of doing that and we would had of heard somthing by now?

I would think KSU would have admitted him by now. He wouldnt have to do anything in admissions to return to UT:)

At this point I don't really even care. Besides I am interested in seeing how Neal performs, and I know this can only accelerate how fast he gets on the field. Hopefully Hayes decides on the Vols....they have a slot open for him.

GBO!

if Tom Smith decommitted because of competition would you really want him? Also, where else could he go that wouldn't have a running back starting ahead of him for at least a year or two?

1%er here.

Same here. Unless he has had some verifiable and serious family issues, he bailed on his teamates and all of us.

He and Dorothy have been chillin in Kansas and as far as I'm concerned, they can stay there!!!

can he decide to come back during the season if he wants if he hasn't decided by the time of the first game?

As long as he is going to class and has the grades, I'd think so. Devin Mathis did it.

Devin Mathis had looked forward to being a normal student after not rejoining the Tennessee football team for his junior year. He wanted to focus on class and sneak in some afternoon naps.

After he watched his former teammate Daniel Lincoln miss three field goals last month against Alabama and struggle with a quadriceps injury, the former Volunteers walk-on saw an opportunity to help.

"I just walked back in there and said, 'Hey, I used to be here. Maybe I could come back out to practice, see if I've still got it or see if I can help the team,'" he said.
