Seriously... When did Tennessee get so much talent that we have no need for an incredibly talented running back? It never ceases to amaze me when internet posters truly believe they know more than talent evaluators, and paid professionals. Saying that Poole is better than Brown is foolish and ignorant. Brown was 18 years old running behind a line with 2 walk-ons, and still looked good. T Poole is a great player, and he will make a big impact this year, no doubt about it, but he couldn't even play in B Brown's league when it comes to skill and talent. I know, go ahead with the he has heart and loves Tennessee argument. I have heart and love Tennessee so I want my jersey and number today then!

For everyone knocking him for being indecisive, you should seriously consider how decisive you were when you were 18. This kid moved away from home as the most talented player in a few years. Committed to a coach who promised him everything, and has a father who wants him home. Give him a break. He never came out and knocked the team, nor Dooley. I am glad you don't get kicked off this site for being indecisive because if so 90% of the Brown haters would be out because of your time spent in the recruiting forum lusting over this 17 year old prospect named Bryce Brown this time last year.

You must of been Valid Victorian :)- I graduated my HS class with honors & I was voted most athletic. So that tells me I know more than you already..[B/] When did Dooley say Bryce is the best back on this team? Kiffin used Bryce for recruiting purposes. Bryce wasn't quiet ready for the SEC yet. I think Lathers proved that to him in the 1st day with full pads. Look at all the concussions he endured during the season. I'm not knocking Bryce, he could be a good one eventually. Dooley knows Poole is the MAN. If Bryce is on the team or not, come opening day, Poole will be the starter. I bet the farm on that!

I don't even have to read your post to know that it is wrong after reading this.

No one thought he would beat out Hardesty.
Yes they did. Do we need to bump some of those threads where folks like me got lambasted for suggesting that Hardesty would start over Brown?
Poole was where he needed to be. There was a lot at stake.
That may be true. Kiffin was trying to get quality players in as fast as he could. The shortest route to doing that could be helped by allowing recruits to see a highly rated, very high profile signee having a good year as a Freshman. It doesn't help so much having him get beaten out by a RS Sophomore and former 3* recruit under the old staff.
Brown really was the best back besides Hardesty. Even a 90% Brown is better than Poole.
Honestly, if that is true (and I personally suspect it isn't) then Poole stinks out loud.

Brown showed me two things last year. One, that he's a very gifted athlete with huge upside. Two, that he has very raw RB skills. He doesn't see holes. He doesn't set up blocks. He runs up blockers' backs unnecessarily. He showed very little "shake". And maybe worst for a guy with his size and power, he wasn't difficult to tackle.

I feel for him. I want him to stay... but if anyone's performance last year is being over-rated it is Brown's.

Some of you are seriously overrating Tauren Poole BTW, just because he appears to be our best back at the moment doesn't make him Trent Richardson.

That's possible. Poole may not be any good at all. We don't know because he really didn't get a chance though most practice reports and comments by Poole and others suggest that he should have gotten one.

We did get to see plenty of Brown. He wasn't ready skill-wise for that level of competition.

Have they had the presser to announce the presser that is announcing the time of the Bryce Brown Announcement presser yet?

I do think there will be a presser when Brown makes his decision. There will be tons of questions from the press and the best way to get all the info out is through a presser. When Brown make his decision, it will be the biggest news of the week in Knoxville. Thus, there will likely be a Brown Presser. I want to make sure I can watch the presser when it is held.

Poole has practiced with the team all spring, and even stuck with the team when he was delegated to 4th in the rotation. Don't get me wrong I wish BB the best, and hope he is happy wherever he ends up. but letting him return to a starting job when he hasn't been here for the team this spring in practice wouldn't be right. Poole and Oku are our RB's and I am more than happy with that.

Except when he tried to quit the team, right?

I would much more prefer he just go away quietly. When Kiffen left, so did Brown's "arrangement". As I said before, we don't want the microscope that was pointed at USC, turned in our direction. Bryce is a drama queen, don't be surprised if he tries to burn us/Kiffen on his way out.

Yeah. But also a little common sense. It makes NO SENSE for Bryce to pass up being a featured back at a major SEC program, where every conference game will be on ESPN/CBS, to go to KState and sit out an entire season.

Common sense doesn't seem to be part of the equation in this drama any more.

That kind of kills the bet there. You have basically nothing at stake.

I'll leave Scout's honor from an Eagle Scout. The handle thing was a joke. Mark me down as in. If this goes south guess I'll pay to be on tos.
