Poole has practiced with the team all spring, and even stuck with the team when he was delegated to 4th in the rotation. Don't get me wrong I wish BB the best, and hope he is happy wherever he ends up. but letting him return to a starting job when he hasn't been here for the team this spring in practice wouldn't be right. Poole and Oku are our RB's and I am more than happy with that.

from what he has done so far, he probably wouldnt return if he wasnt guarenteed to start. however, it would be ridiculous to guarantee him to start. tennessee does not need to stoop to that level.

I imagine he's enough in touch with the situation to know that even without a "guarantee" of the starting job, he would be able to win the job. He would be far and away the most talented RB we have on the roster if he were to return.

His willingness or lack there of to practice with the team this spring tells me he doesn't have the drive/desire to play for Tennessee. If he returns I still see Poole starting ahead of him. That is just my opinion of course, and I don't see him returning here so we probably won't even get to see that.

LOL @ anyone that thinkgs hed just be handed the starting job. This isn't Dizzy Dean with his paps as the coach. Although, an open battle would be the equivelant of handing it to him, bc hed run away with it, imo.

What he is far and away from is the team development that he missed due to his self imposed exodus from the team. He had the potential to be a great back and contributor, but I seriously doubt that his current "trainer" could even modestly approach what he might have been exposed to through a Bennie Wylie program. If he is ever allowed to come back I hope he rides the bench until he learns what commitment is. Just my personal opinion.

You play the best players that you have. If Brown were to return, Dooley would be stupid not to start him.

Anyone else thinking that another reason he might be sitting out is so he use roids/HGH to recover from an injury and not have to worry about it showing up in a drug test?

No, that thought leterally never entered my mind. His injury wasn't that serious was it. Did he ever have surgery? If he did, I totally missed that news.

I think hes very good. I dont think hes so good that its a given he would be starting right away again. Sounds like some think he walks on water. I dont think for a second if DD doesnt start him hes stupid. IMO he would be welcomed back but ,wouldnt play alot more this season than he did last season, and I wouldnt blame DD one bit for it.

+1 He showed skills but also showed he needs work. I hoope he stays with UT but I don't want the lack luster dedication he shows when something does not go his way. He will not be the make it or break it player that decides the season. He will be a great fit as the team matures the next three years with the youth we have on the O-Line and QB. This team has a chance to be on top once more but it will be a few years as it was going to be anyway under LK. I wish him the best in all he does no matter what he decides:good!:

It's not about being a world beater. It's about being better than the alternatives, which I think Brown is.

Negative. You play the game to win, and as a coach, you play the guys who give you the best chance to win. If Brown is better than Poole, or even Oku, he will play considerably. Dooley will not sit him just to "prove a point."

And maybe next spring the entire team will decide they arent sure if they want to play at UT until the season starts.

It means there is a point , and its has to be proven. I didnt say he would sit the bench. I said he probably wouldnt play ALOT more than he played last year.

Why on Earth would Brown get less playing time than Poole or Oku? Because he doesn't "bleed orange?" Look, I think the whole situation is ridiculous with him not making a decision one way or the other, but it doesn't make much sense to bring him back to have him sit the bench the majority of the time. In that case, don't let him come back.

If Dooley wants to "prove a point" then he should just tell BB to hit the bricks. If he allows him back on the team, then there is no excuse for him not playing if he's the best RB we have on the roster.

I don't care if he bleeds orange or not. If you want to be a part of the team, then you need to work out with the team, practice etc. He hasn't. He is talented and if he comes back and EARNS the starting spot then I'm fine with it. But in all honesty I think he has only hurt himself by not working out or practicing, therefore I don't think he even earns the spot.

Nothing to do with bleeding orange. Regardless of who the player is, a coach has to set a precedent, especially in our situation. Just my opinion, im done with this.

Kind of like he has in recruiting? We don't need good players, we'll just get nice guys and be The Little Engine Who Could.
