Will Bryce Brown return to play (be listed on a gameday roster) for Tennessee?

Play for Tennessee and historically one of the top ten football programs in the country that consistently produces NFL players.

Play for K state, historically irrelevant program but both close to home and a chance to play with his brother.

Not as easy a decision as some want to make it for a player that seems to be pretty close to his family.

Ummm, no.

IMO, dooley should wave goodbye to BB.

Either you are committed to being a member of the team or you aren't.

Dooley should say something to the effect that he could stay or go, but dooley could care less

Ummm, no.

k-state was borderline awful before snyder came there. before he came there in '89, their last conference title was all the way back in 1934 and they had only finished with a winning conference record 2 times between that year and the season that snyder took over. he's not all that far off.

Thanks for the history lesson. I'm well aware. However, when he got there they became relevant.

They're not "historically relevant" though. Like the guy you were replying to said. Rather than post the W/L record, bowl appearances, etc etc, I'll just refer to ESPN's prestige rankings (Here they are) which puts KSU at #76. Behind obvious heavyweights such as...Hawaii. Kansas. Arizona. And of course, Bowling Green.

So one more week of speculation.

Wouldn't Bryce have to sit out a year if he goes to K State?

Why would you do that, especially if his main concern is playing time. At Kstate he will get ZERO playing time next season.

Come back to the VOLS

Anyone who doesn't want Brown is a typical I don't want them unless they are a Vol to the core type of fan. Sometimes players have to think about themselves and step back from the situation. The fact that Bryce is still trying to stay at TN and get his BRO to come here as well shows how much he really does love TN.

If you think we have a quality RB situation then I think you are looking at it with Orange tinted glasses.

Poole - He looks to be a lightening rod and could very well be a above average SEC running back, but who here knows for a fact that he can carry the load over a season as a #1 running back? That's what I thought, no one.

Oku - Seems to not be a consistent everydown back option. He will be a GREAT situational player for TN and I expect him to score alot of TD's in his career here, but I am not comfortable with him being our #2 running back at the start of the season.

Williams - He really looks to be struggling after the ACL...which doesn't mean he isn't going to be good someday, just probably won't get there this year.

Neal - I love his tape and am encouraged by what I hear from the coaches. I really think if BB doesn't come back then Neal will end up as our #2 running back early on in the season...and not that a Freshman running back can't contribute fine (Jamal, BB, Henry, Foster, Ect.) But I would rather not put all our eggs in that basket.

All this adds up to desperatly wanting BB back. He has proven that he can be a solid SEC running back, and he did that as a freshman behind a ragtag Oline with a banged up hip.

He has the potential to be the best RB we have had in 10 years...anyone who doesn't want him is just a hater, plain and simple.

Great post. Here's hoping Bryce see's the light and is back in Orange this fall.

:good!:

Really... it depends on the conclusion one is drawing. If the conclusion is that there is NO CHANCE for CDD to win, then you are correct.

The 'conclusion' most skeptics draw is that it is UNLIKELY that he will win.
That is the position I've taken. At the same time, I'm willing to accept that he's done several good things along with the things that make me uncomfortable.

Most arguments here are stochastic and not deterministic.

You have several (SGM, hat, Fiji for instance) that are very "deterministic".

It probably isn't fair that everyone who expresses skeptical/negative ideas about DD are lumped in with the extreme... but the dividing lines are often pretty clear when the specific arguments start.

In other news, Kiffin promised Bryce Brown a Sophomore Heisman Campaign according to Brent Hubbs:

In other words, I don't think a Heisman Trophy campaign will be promised to a recruit in his sophomore season as it was by the last staff apparently.

I know right? Another week? to decide to play between Tennessee and K state? Its a total no brainer, and to drag this out another week is unacceptable

He draaaaagggged his last decision out as well, then ended up a VOL.

I wonder what the family decided over their Memorial Day Weekend............

Wow, he won't stop at anything. That right there is why is so good at getting kids on board. I see nothing wrong with the promise Kiff made and he probably would have came through and tried this year. But if this is why BB is leaving then so be it.

Well he's never going to win a heisman at ks.

+1. But your too rational on here.

no thats not rational when it comes to team principles. everybody else is on board right now, TOGETHER. sweating and working hard for one goal TOGETHER. all while this pre-medona is having a think over the entire spring which is now spilling over into the summer. what if everyone throughout their career here just took a step back for a couple months and said you know what guys its been a really tough year i just need a break to think things over. it was really stressfull being at traditionally one of the best programs in the country where i was the understudy of an outstanding back, where i got to stap it up every saturday while over 100,000 fans showed me nothing but love. ya what a tough life bryce. you need to grow the f up and stop being a baby. the fact that he thinks he is entitled to leave his team and then have the option of coming back sickens me to the core. he thinks he's a lot more important than he really is when he hasnt dont bull**** yet.

Brown can make sure he doesn't win the heisman or any other award in 2010by transfering because he will sit on the bench the entire season.

Still makes no sense to transfer.
