This is absolutely ridiculous. We need to get as far away from BB as possible. He just so happens to be at the deepest position on our depth chart. I was hyped when he got here, and I still believe he is an incredible talent.......but his family obviously doesnt want him here. I say good luck to him playing on possibly the worst team in the "big 12" and getting to the NFL. Way past time to move on.

I didn't realize Bryce Brown played defensive back.

Why would anyone not be suportive of Bryce returning to the team? Especially if Arthur comes with him. The kid has wanted to play with his brother from the very beginning. They are very close being only a year and some days apart. They always played football together growing up.

It's an extremely tough decision and, let's be honest, the next few years at Tennessee are not looking the brightest. It's not like we are a championship-caliber team and a talented RB is the only piece missing from the puzzle.

There are transfer rules in place for this exact situation and it is certainly within his right to chose to transfer out and it's perfectly within his right to change his mind.

I think a lot of this relates back to how crazy his recruitment was, but a lot of that drama was created by Butler. Butler is in no way involved with this decision. It's all up to the family.

This situation is completely unrelated to his recruitment. It should be viewed as a separate decision. Bryce showed last year that he can be a team player. I really don't think he enjoys the attention he is getting right now.

For the life of me, I cannot understand the people on this board that think we are loaded at RB. Let's refresh.

2009
Poole- 10 carries for 86 yards
Oku- 23 carries for 99 yards
Williams- 0 carries for 0 yards, torn ACL
Neal- not even on campus

Yep, we are absolutely loaded.

i mean if i where dooley i would say hell yeah bring him to knoxville. we are not in the position to turn down depth. bryce would be a great 1-2 punch with poole and who knows arthur might burst out of his shell playing with his brother. come on guys, time to take your pride and put it on the back burner or we will never get out of this hole.

I am aware that we are not "loaded" at RB. However, at this point in Dooley's tenure and for the sake of team chemistry, I believe it would not be a wise decision to allow Bryce to simply gear back up and join the team. Granted, there may be unknown and legitimate reasons why Bryce watched from the sidelines all Spring . Obiviously, our ability to move the ball on the ground this upcoming season is paramount to any success that we obtain. Bryce is a beast and can help our team tremendously. However, if Brown re-joins team, Dooley and Co. will need to do it tactically...and yes, I am confident that our remaining RBs can perform at a high level. Bryce or no Bryce, our O-line is going to have to create holes and lanes, which should be our greatest concern.

what you say is true. and i think even if he leaves our rb will be alright, but i just think given the state of the program we need all the bodies we can get, and then we also get a talented LB with it, and who knows maybe arthur being reunited with his bro might be the spart he has been needing....

so guys dont keep your nose up too far bc we need the bodies......GBIGO!!!:clapping::clapping:

You have to ask yourself does having Bryce and Authur make us a better team? CDC can handle all that locker room stuff. If this is true I say let them play!

Just because we have a lot of bodies, doesn't mean we have depth at a position people. I love how less than 250 yards combined in our backfield is considered "a strong point." I'll take a 500+ yard rusher who had a bad hip all year as a freshman, even if he is a little bit of a headcase (which people are overblowing anyway). It's not like it's going to be the difference between an eleven or ten win season. You need all the talent you can get.

Perhaps he doesn't enjoy the attention, but he brought that on himself when he chose to skip spring practice and now is making a play to come back. If he didn't want attention he could have participated in spring ball then reassessed during the quiet period after spring and quietly went about his business of transferring or staying.

Lets say he comes back. Everyone says " make him earn his spot ".. This is a bad idea. Lets say he doesnt do well in practice, doesnt put forth enough effort, Dooley isnt going to come out publicly and announce that. Yet come game day, all we will hear is, why doesnt he play BB, put BB in, whats Dooley thinking? Regardless of what Dooley does in this situation he is going to be considered stupid for doing it. This isnt Dooleys fault, BB quit on the team. Good luck BB, KSU is calling! Your not that important to me, if Dooley lets you back on he team, you better be ready to work like never before, good luck either way.

The fact that he didn't just leave Knoxville in February makes me feel a little more forgiving. I'm sure this whole thing has been a tough ordeal for all of the players. Especially those that were brought here solely because of promises made by he who must not be named. BB could have been a much bigger brat about this considering all the hype he's heard about how great he is, and the way Dooley has NOT been kissing his butt.
I say, let him back on the team, but make him work like crazy to earn that spot. If he isn't willing to do everything asked of him and more...then show him the bench and don't feel bad about it.

I can't wait for when we do get news that he and his brother are joining the vols. Just to see the ones who are ripping him in fear he isn't coming back, relish and start celebrating his return lol. :good!:

I, for one, hope you are right.

People are too judgmental....remember he originally committed to Miami to play with his brother, so he's wanted to from the get go....The devil(LK) had a lot to do with him signing with UT...and if he wanted to leave why hasn't he left Knoxville....I say let him come back and earn his PT, bring in his brother who was the number 1 LB coming out of HS....its a win win situation...we get depth at RB and LB

Sounds to me like Bryce is trying to hold Dooley hostage...Either take my brother or I won't play for you....Sorry, I'd rather have players who WANT to be Tennessee VOLS without all the damn drama.

And it also sounds like Dooley wants him back as much as we do...leaving the door open and not telling him to shove off.

I have mixed feelings on this one........ 1) AS A PERSON WITH SOME UNDERSTANING OF HUMAN NATURE. We who are on this board love UT and totally sold on it, when a new recruit, like BB comes here, he comes because of a coach. Like it or not BB came here because of Kiffin & Co. When they left, he had only been here one, perhaps not enough time to get sold on UT and be engrained here. Not knowing what to do he decides to skip sping (time to think it over) but not he has had a change of heart. etc... 2) AS A PART OF THIS GREAT FAN BASE. If he stays and is re-admitted without any cost ( ie.. suspension) then will it cause a problem among the other players???????

As long as the team decides. I do not care what the result is.

The decision should be made by the head coach and the player involved.

The team will rally around when he breaks free for a TD this fall.

If his heart wasn't into it then he did the right thing by sitting out. Chances are good he'd have gotten hurt if he was just going through the motions.

I find it ironic that there are those that were eager to give a kid involved in a sexual assault a second chance on this team, but don't think a kid who simply had second thoughts deserves the same.....especially after the turmoil BB has seen here in the past year.

It's the folks who give the "if he don't bleed orange we don't want him here" speech that are blowing this way out of proportion.
