I hope he pushes his decision to July. It nice to have SOMETHING to talk about.

Indeed! We could probably work in a Gran is coming back rumor and with the Miami connection though his brother, there is no limit to where we can go with this between now and July.

As per EPSN College Football Rumors:

Believe it or not, according to John Pennington of MrSEC.com, "there are reports" going around that Tennessee RB Bryce Brown has told new coach Derek Dooley that he will stay in Knoxville -- if his brother, former Miami LB Arthur, can join the party as well. (We have not been able to locate any of these reports, but we'll defer to Pennington, who appears to have bona fide credentials.)

Arthur Brown is already back home in Kansas, where he reportedly is enrolled at a junior college with the expectation that he will transfer to Kansas State in the fall. Bryce Brown was expected to follow suit. Now, apparently the BroBros (doesn't have quite the same ring as the JoBros) are considering another option.

The big question is, Why would Dooley agree to this? It seems antithetical to everything he has staked his name on since taking over the program. He's said he would not "re-recruit" Bryce, so why would he let Bryce return to school and bring his brother? Furthermore, would the team go for it? Dooley has said that the players would have to be willing to welcome Bryce back.

Pennington has an answer: The Vols are so short on talent and numbers (potentially only 75 scholarship players this fall, 10 below the max), and expectations are so low, that Dooley might be willing to go out on a limb to retain one and get another player who was considered the best at his position in high school.

We're not buying. Based on the no-nonsense vibe that Dooley has given off, we just don't see this happening.

whats nonsense? maybe bryce just wants to be with his brother. And if hed rather be here with his brother than in kstate with his brother good. I still dont think he is a great back but he can help the team and so can his brother.

Dooleys just playing hard to get, makes Brown want to come back. Make him earn a spot and add a LB, dont see anything wrong with that. This tells me (if he stays) that he really likes it here and its not just who the "coach" is. At the same time , I could care less whether he stays or goes.

I for one wouldn't mind...we need the talent....that being said, I think he'd have a lot to prove coming back

My coworker is a k-state alum. He said that the rumor is that they are going as a package to the highest bidder.

Sad to say, but that makes sense to me as it wouldn't suprise me a bit if Kitten offered his dad something to let him play at UT when he was here (Reggie Bush ring a bell).. Now that Kittens has left, maybe the well has dried up now and pops is looking for another deal... I hope I'm wrong as BB seems like a good kid and would only be a pawn, but it wouldn't suprise me

we need lb more than end. I dont even see a huge need at end if our freshman can be solid backups to walker and martin

Supposedly Arthur had difficulty picking up complex defenses in college. Brown had trouble recognizing when the run was coming and when the pass was coming and was often slow to react.

If the only thing we have to do to get Bryce back is offer Arthur, I will lose a lot of faith in Dooley if we miss on this. It's not like Arthur is some scrub--he could provide quality depth.

I'm fine with him coming back, but he needs to start of on the end of the depth chart and earn his way back.

Interesting to me that everybody has been beeatching about the lack of depth on the team and now is complaining about the possibility of adding depth with the Brown brothers.

Brown is going to have to earn the trust of the coaching staff and his teammates. He can't expect to skip out on the whole spring and then come back #1 on the depth chart.

Most people have said they'd take them on this thread...
