Really?!? You watched those two backs run last year and still think Brown is in the same league as Richardson? I don't know how any sane person could draw that conclusion based on watching them play rather than Rivals rankings. Regardless of O-line differences, the differences between the two in running back skill were vast (vision, power and cutting ability in particular).

really tough to compare when you add the OL part in there. Based on the OL's I would say Hardesty had a better year than Ingram. Of course he was on the best team and won the awards since that's the way it goes nowadays

i compare this to emmit smith and barry sanders.... what would sanders of done, broken record etc.. if he had emmit's line his whole career!

I would love to have Bryce behind Poole.

Poole has shown NO reason to believe he can be durable enough to carry a large load over an entire season. Also I am skeptical that Oku can really be a reliable #1 if Poole did go down. T Williams doesn't look to be over his knee, so that would leave us with true freshman Neal as the probably #2 to me.

Brown is needed and it would be awesome to have some energy going into the summer for me as a fan!

So, is the consensus that we'll know what's going on by June 1st? He'll either be back or gone for sure by then?

Not really. The difference was so vast between the two in their moves, quickness, vision, etc. One guy looked like he could have been the featured back for most teams in the country, the other looked like he probably should have redshirted.

it's still not fair to compare when one of the guys had to dodge d-linemen almost before the handoff and the other had his first contact 2yds past the los. Not saying TR wasn't very good but he didn't have 2 265lb walk-ons trying to make holes for him

How dare you use logic.

The Denver Broncos Oline was known for making mediocre running backs look like pro bowlers back in the Shannahan years. I look at the comparison of TR and BB the same way.

Yeah, it's certainly logical to believe that Brown is in the same league with Richardson. Rivals says so and so it is, I guess.

I'm pretty consistent on my stance on star ratings. I just think comparing their true freshman season is a bit premature based on the overall team talent. Add in the issues we had at QB and it's pretty fair to say opposing D's knew they had to stop us on the ground

I agree to an extent, but I'm not just comparing their numbers. I'm looking at the skills they displayed taking into account what they were given by their respective O-lines.

Richardson and Ingram ran behind the same line and Brown and Hardesty ran behind the same line. Richardson was a lot closer to the Heisman winning back than Brown was to a top tier SEC back in Hardesty.

I hear you. It is still too early to say for certain. It's also relevant that Brown was injured much of the season, but I still think Richardson displayed better ability last year.

The semester has come to an end, and the ability for B. Brown to transfer without a 2 year penalty, I believe, was May 14.

Has anyone heard anything?

Never heard of that rule before, but interesting if true. I'd think we will hear something one way or the other before the end of the month.

Come on Bryce stay at TN.

It seems to me that if he plans on playing anywhere this year, he needs to be making a decision very soon. I'm surprised it's not already too late, unless he stays here, but what do I know.

No joke. Yeah, the rule is that, if he were to leave during the semester of his freshman year, he'd have to sit for 2 years. If he waited until the end of the 2nd semester of his freshman year, he would fall into the 1 year transfer penalty rule or go play juco...

Kiffin is a genious JMO, to say other wise is wrong. I hate the man, but he's making bank in the best part of the country.

News for you: LA isn't the best part of the country. It's easily the worst part of California.

That being said, USC is his dream job and everyone needs to get over it

Per Hubbs:

NOTHING NEW

Dooley was asked on Thursday if there was any change with running back Bryce Brown and if the fact that Brown was back home in Kansas meant anything was final in Brown's tenure at Tennessee.

That is the first i have heard that Bryce was back in Kansas. Wonder if that means anything - probably not good.

It probably means that he is a college student from out of state who went home after the first year ended. Few athletes are still on campus, I believe. Chris Walker is about to head to Colorado.

I think he is staying. IMO he intends to go to the NFL after his junior year and it wouldn't be in his best interest to have played at three different schools in three years.

It's a matter of opinion I suppose, me being from Mobile I don't get to see cities like that often. Was fun in my experience.
