If ppl think that if he tells Shannon he wants to be a cane, and Miami won't send him another offer then you all are crazy. This was just to try and get him to sign, plus its pissing Shannon off from what I hear. I still like our chances but if he ends up here or Miami that's cool with me. I'm a fan of both but Miami does not need him as much as us. Just hope the NCAA stops this crap next year and hope for BB this guy can live up to the hype.

First step go to the recruiting thread. Second, hit the Vols only button. Third, go to the Bryce Brown thread. Fourth, read for your convenience start with today's only posts. Fifth, click on them and you will find them.

Finally, this is assuming you can read. Very easy process. This Thread is in the wrong Forum and is about 8 posts to long of which I am guilty of three of them.

Again, a better thread would be BB took a Crap today in the don't give a sh*t Forum.

Bryce said that "the Volunteers will be in it to the end"
Translation- im going somewhere else but the UT hat will be on the table.
Wish we could get him. The LSU visit is very scary.

it is to me, too. their talent pool is pretty da@n deep, right now. plus they can sell him on being the next Jacob Hester.:birgits_giggle: jk, but they have a much newer NC trophy to show off, and the #1 recruiting class. that is not a hard sell.

there are rumors that Brown's brother is not happy at Miami and is looking to transfer. Then there is word from Brown's parents that they would like for their sons to play together.

I would have never thought it possible, but this Bryce Brown deal stinks much worse than the whole Marlon Brown saga. I'm usually not a negative guy, I think bad things are coming with this kid (off the field). The kid already has a de facto agent that's collecting "donations"!! WTF?! That right there should send us running the other direction.

If this kid will cut Butler off cold turkey, then fine, come on down to Knoxville. Otherwise, I think this has the potential to become a very bad deal for us.

I think this may be the best post to grace this thread in a LONG time. Well said, General.

"I'm not really sure why everyone is so worried about LSU ... Because they are LSU and the cajuns can party."

All true. And much of the country is in freez-butt-off mode right now but weather is beautiful in Baton Rouge in late February, cool, sunny with azaleas blooming. This SHOULD be all about football but he might look around and say "what a nice place," not realizing that for 8 months of the year its gonna be hot as hell. If they feed him some crawfish etoufee, he might be a lock for LSU ... we better hope he's allergic to shellfish.

He wants to go someone with lots of talent, and LSU has definitely loaded the cabinets for the next few years. The number one class this year, which included #1 receiver, #1 athlete (qb in HS), #1 Safety, and then this 5 star beast: Chris Davenport - Football Recruiting

That is why LSU visit is scary...

yeah, but their coach is a flat out idiot.....their fans were talking about firing him 1 year after winning the national title. But all that stopped when they beat "mighty Georgia Tech" in the peach bowl.

Les Miles is an idiot, but he can recruit with the best. Very few times do kids leave Baton Rouge without LSU being in their top 3. I really wish it wasn't true, but this kid will be signed, sealed, and delivered to the Bayou Bengals this weekend. There is just WAY too much talent there for this kid to pass up. I think LSU is going to be THE dominant force in NCAA for the next few years. It was definitely a good run by our staff though.

The only reason lsu recruits so well is because Saban established a successful program, Miles is a joke 4 a coach!

That would be next weekend.

I know that everything on here is speculation. That being said, has everyone forgotten the Janzen Jackson saga? There are rumors from decent sources now that place this guy in orange and white. His options are:

Oregon - which is an up and coming program. Talent wise they will always be second to USC in that conference as long as Carroll is there. USC generally only loses games to inferior opponents, and annihilates teams that are considering having a shot to beat them.

USC - is out, which leads to my argument against LSU.

Miami - has probably hung themselves on this one.

KSU - can't remember the last time I saw them on national tv. ( I do remember the cotton bowl a five or six years ago. )

LSU - I keep hearing that their signing classes over the past few years will attract him there. Last time I checked Less Miles is still their head coach. This argument seems mute now that he has ruled out USC. If talent is what he wants to be surrounded by, then why isn't this discussion between LSU, Alabama, Florida, and USC?

Then there is UT. We have an up and coming coach, the best top to bottom coaching staff in the country. We play in the SEC, which receives national TV coverage weekly, and is touted yearly to be the best conference. Our defense will be strong, which given the QB situation, means we will run the ball a lot and play field position. I know we are thin at O line and QB, but what makes you think that we won't fill that hole next year? O linemen like to run block, more than they like to pass block. He could also be heralded as one of the pieces that put us back in contention in the SEC. The SEC has also won the last 3 national titles in convincing fashion. He could also be the next Reggie Bush.

If this guy wants the spotlight he can find it here weekly. I personally think he is a stand up kid, with a mentor that is trying to promote himself IMO. I also think when he saw the intensity of the morning workouts, he saw the bones of what it takes to win. So it really comes down too do you want to go to LSU in be another face in the crowd, or come to UT and be the catalyst of change.

I could be completely wrong, but this makes sense to me.

I really think with Oku balking, and USC dropping from the list, and statements to the press that he is ready to get this over with, that his mind is made up. I think Kiffin pulls another "ART OF WAR" move (i.e. Janzen Jackson, Nukeese Richardson) and has espn talking about UT Football again in March. JMIO. Kiffin loves the spotlight as a recruiting tool.
