Seth Regan was an academic all SEC...Volball333 has the IQ of a fish and a snicker bar...They are NOT one in the same

Ehhhh.. He said that's what his name is, and any story involving age or whatnot checks out. I really don't think he's lying - who would honestly put all that time in trying to be a backup punter?

All of those instate kids that went to Notre Dame, Alabama, and Southern Cal so they would not have to play for Fulmer? I think for the last 8 years that Fulmer's recruiting was suspect, and when it came to developing talent he had to be dead last.

CLK has never had a top 5 recruiting class and your ready to say he's a better recruiter then Fulmer? Sorry, in my mind Fulmer proved he could recruit. Recruiting wasn't Fulmer's problem.

I do not know how well CLK will do at recruiting, but I do know that Fulmer lost his recruiting edge the last 5 or more years. The competition went way up and UT could not go into NC, SC, AL, and GA and fill its roster like it used to be able to do. The top schools in those states put a fence around those states and UT was left out in the cold under Fulmer.

One reason that Fulmer's classes were rated so high was because he recruited to the star system and not the need's of the team. That kind of recruiting translated into two 5-7 seasons in the last four years.

Fulmer was an excellent recruiter. However, he did have a #35 class and I have a hard time believing that CLK will ever have a class rated that low as long as Orgeron is here. The new staff is over the top with their efforts in recruiting. Not saying that Fulmer was bad, just that this new staff would be hard for anyone to match with respect to recruiting efforts.

Where do we stand with this kid? Miami still in this too? Listed a few other schools, does this kid really know where he wants to play ball?

Its been posted and it would be nice to read through the other threads before starting a new thread.

Fulmer wouldn't have been half the recruiter CLK is if he wasn't a high profile coach. It's not like Fulmer was a smooth talking salesman...players just wanted to play for him because of his name. Plus in the 90's Garner was the star.

Last Weekend Bryce Brown visited Lane Kiffin, and the Tennessee Volunteers and had nothing but high praises for the Vols'. "The players and the coaches are fired up down there. I could tell that they are working hard to battle for the SEC title".

Bryce talked about spending time with the Jim Chaney, Offensive Line Coach, "We talked about how they are going to block different run plays. We also talked about the impact that Coach Kiffin had with the Oakland Raiders over the past couple of years, as well as his NFL experience with the St. Louis Rams". The offensive linemen impressed Bryce too saying, "All of the linemen there met in the morning on their own time and they were working their butts off." "One of them told me that regardless of who's behind them, they're going to rush for at least a 1,000 yards. I really liked their confidence and work ethic. I believe that the more you work the more successful you will be." When asked about his meeting with Coach Lane Kiffin, Bryce said,"It went very well, you can feel the passion that he has to make UT champions again. He already has proven that he is one of the best offensive minds in football. Coach Kiffin made a big impression on me."

One of the highlights of his trip was the other Coach Kiffin though. "Coach Monte Kiffin is high energy and hilarious, you can see why he's been so successful over the years with the Buccanneers. He really made me feel at home and I enjoyed him. For him to come to Tennessee and support his son in this way shows me alot about him and Tennessee's commitment to winning," said Bryce.

Bryce said that the Volunteers will be in it to the end, when he announces on March 16, 2009 at the Kansas Hall of Fame, in Wichita, KS.

from potential players

The expiration for Miami's LOI expires tomorrow, and sources say they will not issue another. If Bryce continues with his intended schedule and announces March 16, Miami will not be an option.
