Bruce postgame comments.

Still love Pearl. Will always support him.

OP, might want to change the title of the thread if you can? It sounds like it makes you sick in a bad way. Like, "that dude makes me sick." Not choked up in a good way. Just a thought. I frankly thought I was going to read a thread hating on him.

I'll always appreciate Bruce and his incredible accomplishments at UT, but Donnie Tyndall is flat getting it done.

Coach pearl is just a great guy... I wish he was still a part of this program but even in defeat as an opponents coach he's still a great ambassador for UT

Yes; still not as weird as being obsessed where 17-18 year old kids are going to go to college though.

Are u not obsessed with that? It's sports and suppose to be fun and mean something....the words love and hate don't mean the same thing as in every day life either.

Bruce has shown class ever since he was dismissed and I don't see how anyone could be critical of him except someone that has never make a mistake.
I've never understood that line of reasoning. Making a mistake may undermine your credibility, but it surely doesn't disqualify you from being able to call somebody out for a failing.

Donnie is no different than Pearl..if he cheated and gets a show cause he has to go..I think with the young talent that we seem to have, we should be able to find a good coach..if we open the checkbook

I wouldn't exactly say the roster is overflowing with talent...9 scholarship players, two of which (Owens and Carmichael) should have absolutely redshirted but couldn't due to numbers. Don't confuse outstanding coaching with good talent.

There was something very special about seeing Bruce get emotional today but I couldn't help think about how pissed I would've been as an Auburn fan...

Does anyone know what the Auburn fans are saying about it?

You'd have to find the few that care.

If the tournament had been 64 teams when Mears coached, he would've made more than twice as many tournaments as Pearl did.

Dude just stop. Honestly, you're making yourself look like an idiot from being butthurt about the support for Pearl. Whether, you want to believe it or not, he took our program to unprecedented heights. You have to respect him for what he did. That being said, I love Donnie Knoxville and am so thankful that he is our coach. But I want Bruce to be successful wherever he is. Go Vols!!

Don't get me wrong..I think DT..is one heck of a coach. I've heard media guys say that he works harder than anyone at game planning

Whether you liked Pearl or not, he made UT basketball fun again and relevant in hoops not seen since the Mears era. Spare me the bullsh*t about Green taking us to the NCAA's. Green did less with more than any coach not named Cuonzo and couldn't coach his way out of a wet paper sack. Whether you liked his carnival barker schtick or not, the man took UT to heights that the majority on here haven't seen in their lifetime. He also loved UT and embraced the community. Did he flirt with other coaching jobs? Sure. Who the hell doesn't? Just like 100% of you look to further your career and pay. That's vocational suicide if you don't.

You can question some of his recruiting decisions and the character of players he brought in along with his X's and O's, but the man knew how to win and the team and the fans had fun doing it. He won here just like he's won everywhere else he has been. The next time he brings Auburn into TBA won't be as easy.

With that being said, I hope we can hang on to Tyndall. He seems to be one of the best X's and O's coaches we've ever had. If Tyndall does not make it out of the NCAA mess, you can forget about Pearl ever coming back as long as the members of the administration that fired him are still employed by UT.

It's hard not to say "what if" Cuonzo Martin had left before BP committed to Auburn. He is hands down the most charismatic coach in college basketball.

There's a guy about 170 miles north of us on I-75 who would like a word with you about that claim. And, ya know, his team is actually winning.

Nothing. He was NEVER under consideration by anyone with actual authority in the hiring process. As far as the UTAD is concerned, Auburn did them a favor by taking him off the market.

Hate to burst your bubble, but it's pretty widely known that he had the Pump brothers floating his name out there; most notably for the Arizona job.

My bubble is not burst. Pearl turned down the BC and Iowa jobs. You still have that grudge you hang on too.

I'd have to agree with the 95% of you who get the whole CBP thing correctly.,,,.I loved him as our coach and still wish the best for him... Except of course when he plays us....if u only remember bad times with CBP then u simply misremember.,,,but hopefully CDT will be our coach for years to come ..,,
