Bruce postgame comments.

I really don't know how to respond to this post because it's not relevant to anything. But if you took a poll of 1000 Vol fans I would venture to say 900 would want him to come back to coach the Vols.

You must think Phil Martelli is a coaching God.

Kiffin didn't also go around telling everyone what a great "VFL" he was while interviewing for USC. I never expected him to stay longer than 5 years max, and I was perfectly fine with that because he was stacking the roster.

Bruce Pearl was a VFALAICGABJ.

Vol For As Long As I Can't Get A Better Job.

Kiffin didn't have time to go around telling anybody anything. He took the first plane out of Knoxville. The bottom line BP didn't leave. How many other coaches uses other openings for a raise ? Not saying he wouldn't of left but did he ?
So what BP did by interviewing at USC or whoever is worse than what Kiffin did ?

And you can move on.

You do realize a lot of the so called "negative" Pearl comments were made after people started with the "I want him back" crap, right?

I appreciate what he did, but I no longer support him because he coaches another SEC program.

This in spades! It is unfortunate is that Bruce Pearl cannot come back to UT. But the only thing more unfortunate is the dearth of Vol fans who refuse to understand this.

If he is given a show cause how could he recruit? Plus the University would not have the backbone to keep him. All the NCAA would have to do is make a subliminal threat and Cheeks and Hart would be quaking in their shoes.

If UT fires DT, it's because they have no Balls!!

Not to mention the guy cried hearing Rocky Top after the game...

Auburn Tigers vs. Tennessee Volunteers - Recap - January 31, 2015 - ESPN

The man cries because he loves UT and realizes he made a horrible costly mistake. I know he appreciates auburn and the opportunity. I also know that he is a big supporter of CDT but really deep down I think he's hoping for a second chance at the sake of the NCAA investigation. I guarantee if CDT is fired Bruce Pearl will be blowing harts phone up. The guy wants to be here period!

I had a fleeting interest in UT BB when Yarbrough was at UT because he was from Cleveland…..never cared much for BB….UNTIL BRUCE!

He lied…he got a little too big for his pants…but he has humbled himself and repented….and he made it right with the NCAA, but they played hard-azz with him in a completely unjust manner…

Hamilton said he would back him all the way….and then whimper out like the spineless jellyfish he is….and abandoned him. NOT COOL….

NCAA totally handed down a penalty that DID NOT fit Bruce's crime….and that is absurdly inconsistent when in comparison of the offenses of other coaches at other programs…

And--I'd take Bruce back in a NY minute….

I'm all for Coach Tyndall….he seems to be a very good coach…but he ain't squeaky clean….and NCAA sanctions loom over his head….all things being equal…..I'd take Bruce back.

And don't worry about me hanging around to catch your insults…..I'm a FB fan all the way and won't post again in here.

GO VOLS! :salute:

Yeah we won't miss you.

Oh great more rumors

you know how it works. 1 rumor turns in to 2,3,4,5 so on and so on. Its doesn't matter if he interviewed for 15 jobs. At the end of the day he didn't take any. Every coach is always looking for that raise.

Hate to burst your bubble, but it's pretty widely known that he had the Pump brothers floating his name out there; most notably for the Arizona job.

This.

I love what Pearl did but some of you are crazy naive when it comes to him.

And I have no doubt he'd rather be at UT than Auburn. What basketball coach wouldn't?

With Tyndall, Pearl, and the Kennedys coaching in the SEC, there are going to be a lot of defensive contests coming our way during the next few years. UK and UF don't like their future pros playing chess on the bb floor.

Did he really say this in his post conference? If he didn't want to get fired he shouldn't have cheated, lied about it, and then cheated again after he had been warned.

Listen, this is the place that fired me, with cause, but they could have fought to keep me. It's not all giggles and hugs."

I really appreciate what CBP did for UT but from what I've seen so far, Tyndall is a far better Xs and Os coach.

I'm having a hard time remembering all the coaches that got Tennessee to #1 in the rankings. I know Bruce did, who are all the other coaches on the list?

I can't recall either. That's why I say BP set the gold standard for UT Basketball!!

Not voting either way on this, but in many jobs, if not most, and especially in coaching, you check out other opportunities and go on interviews to improve your contract at your current job. It's just part of the resume building that we all have to go through, this falling under the category of "look who else is interested in me."

And if that doesn't work, and you get an offer you like elsewhere, you go. If you want to.

I would never interpret a coach taking interviews elsewhere as meaning that s/he wants to leave.
