Okay, I just could not resist with the inaccurate threads stating that Team X was looking at Coach Pearl:crazy:. Rumor is that Paul Hewitt is leaving Georgia Tech for the St. Johns job(especially if they are willing to throw the $3 million mark out there for Billy Donovan). So, that means GTech will have a vacancy, so is Pearl a candidate?:eek:lol:(note, this thread is completely in jest, I am in no way serious).

I heard Pearl and Billy Gillespie had been offered to become co-head coaches of the Washington Generals, they need someone to help lead them past those pesky Globetrotters.

Another one of these threads, when there is actually one saying the exact same thing...awesome

Merge, delete, or just ignore the thread, I truthfully don't care one way or the other. I was simply trying to have a little fun with it before the inevitable stuff starts with this being a serious rumor, which I see earlier today it was thought credible. I just wanted to have a little fun, because this whole Pearl to Team X crap has gotten ridiculous. Bruce isn't going anywhere I just wish the people who take this stuff seriously would remember that.

Who has taken these rumor threads seriously?

I've seen several threads where people have asked seriously about Iowa, Oregon, and one other that slips my mind. Every year a job opens up, someone seems to start saying that Pearl is bolting. In the past, jobs such as Memphis and Indiana were talked about seriously by a good number of fans with whom I speak regularly. Some don't take this stuff seriously(me included), but there are fans who legitimately worry that with any major job opening that Pearl will bolt.

Got a serious question for anyone who wishes to answer. I really do hear a lot of people seriously worry about CBP leaving us. What does everyone honestly think about why that is? Is it because we now have success after so many years of mediocrity(except under Jerky Green) and some are afraid that Pearl leaving returns us to that? Or is it a function of his personality, and the genuine affection he seems to have for the fans and school and vice versa? Guess, I'm a bit of a waffler it seems like it might be both to me.

Are you serious?

ACC is currently as bad as the SEC.

Tennessee just spent 20 million to renovate Thompson Boling.

Tennessee can pay Pearl just as much.

Why exactly do you think it's a step up? Seems to be a lateral move at best.
