He never actually explicitly states that he isn't running. He says that running would require that he leave Auburn. Well, he is leaving the job as men's head basketball coach. He dresses it up by saying that he's going to continue living in Auburn, and he's going to be an ambassador for the university, so in that sense he isn't "leaving Auburn" but he is leaving his day-to-day job there.Many of you know that I thought and prayed about maybe running for United States Senate. Maybe to be the next great Senator of Alabama. That would have required leaving Auburn. Instead, the university has given me the opportunity to stay here and be Auburn's senator."
