tonight at the tennessee caravan here in memphis bruce took every shot at cal. when bruce was flying into wilson air cal was flying out. bruce told him, "we own memphis". then later on he goes i have some special people i wanna introduce to you. j.p. or excuse me p.j., which ever you prefer, princes parents. hahaha. then he was asked about the netural site problem. pearl goes in my book when you have a contract you abide by it. so if it says alternate schools every year then that means alternate schools not nashville. then pearl commented on the toast the other night. he goes, when i was approached about the toast i was a little uncertain. he asked what it benefited and the person goes homeless people. pearl goes im there then cause ive been homeless for the past nine months. haha. then fulmer got up there and talked. he goes what pearl doesnt know is that everything he has gotten has been inpart of the football program. hahha so just a great dinner and fun to hear the coaches take friendly shots at each other. GO VOLS

Bruce has brought a top 10 powerhouse team to the university, and it is going to continue year in and year out. Let's just hope he can win the big game and take us to the next level while hanging numerous banners.

I don't know, they are aloud to give tickets to basketball games (other than postseason) and to other events (a kid I know who verballed to a D1 school was given free tickets to an event with Bob Knight speaking).

no he wasnt there. i asked him to go but he had aau practice tonight. and i doubt pearl can do that cause it is the dead period right now, so i doubt that pearl couldve given him a ticket. hopefully next year he will be signed and can go and be a treat to the dinner.

I would have gone when the Caravan was in FL, but $ dictated otherwise. I think the FL stop was one of the more expensive ones.

Bruce was asked if he would consider wearing his orange blazer for the Florida game. He emphatically said no! His wearing of the orange is a tribute to Ray Mears and he would not deviate.
When he was pressed to consider it further, he said he might seek permission from the Mears family and break out the blazer for the final four.

If he can get us out of the Sweet 16 and a SEC Championship trophy then yes you could consider us a powerhouse team.

Coach Fulmer said he is excited about the upcoming season. The team has replaced some players it lost, however, the spring practices were good and he expects even better summer practices. The offense will be changed for the coming year and the team has some concerns for its linebackers, said the coach. Coach Dave Clawson is heading the offense and has made some significant changes to the passing game. The running game will be similar to past seasons. The number calling system is also new, said the coach. It replaces the old system, which has been in place since 1982. The offensive line has also been flipped.

Carpenter will be the starting quarterback, however, the second team quarterbacks has not yet been decided.

It’s a tough schedule – just as in past years. We’ll know soon where we stand, said the coach....

Pearl on Maze.....
Pearl said he feels that Maze will be the Vols' best point guard since C.J. Watson, who started on Pearl's first Tennessee team in 2005-06

"Bobby is going to give us a quarterback who will make everyone on the floor better," Pearl said. "He's a high-assist guy, great in the spread and great in ball screen."
