Browns want Chip Kelly

The Eagles will probably interview him also but the browns will offer more power but it doesn't matter because our fans don't really want him anyway.

The Eagles are probably the team that could most benefit from a guy like Kelly. With a young QB, great young RB, and 2 WRs like Jackson and Maclin on the outside the Eagles could flourish with Kelly as coach. Just my opinion.

Unsure how his offense would work in the NFL

I think some concepts are already showing to work in Carolina, Seattle, and Washington.

It wouldn't be his exact offense, but speed and finding weaknesses always helps.

I guess we'll see what kind of QB he prefers in the pros vs. what kind of QB he preferred in college.

Concepts of the offense yes but if he tries to duplicate his current offense it won't work. look what happens when the ducks play teams that have a big front 7 who can tackle in space. that is almost every NFL team.

Yes that is almost every NFL team. But almost every NFL offensive line is also bigger and strong than Oregon's line.

It's an uptempo, no-huddle, spread scheme. How is it not?

I don't think it's the same at all. The Patriots scheme is a lot more complicated. Oregon's seems to be gimmicky, which is why if a good D has a month to prepare for them, Oregon seems to flounder. How many season openers and bowl games have testified to that?

How is it gimmicky? It is a basic zone running game combined with quick passes and a playaction passing game. The offense is pretty basic, if you take away the tempo.

His record in bowl games and season openers isn't as bad as you make it out to be. He has lost 2 season openers and 2 bowl games. Out of those 4 teams, they had a COMBINED 3 losses in the season they beat Oregon. 3 of the 4 teams finished the regular season undefeated. It isn't like these are terrible teams he was losing to. And 2 of the 4 losses were in his first year, before he really got the great players for his offense.

IMO, the biggest factor in the games that Oregon has lost under Kelly has been line play. Their offensive line is pretty small and when they lose, it is usually because the opponents defensive line dominates (See Stanford this year, LSU last year, Auburn the year before that.)

In the NFL, Kelly will be able to go out and get bigger, stronger linemen who are still athletic enough to run his system, and you will see good results, IMO.
