I know Brown is on track but still not 100% to qualify (fingers crossed big time on that one)...what about the other 2 JUCO's (Rivera, Clark)?

Any chance either one doesn't qualify?

I think they'll both contribute...I think Clark could take one of the CB spots

Yeah...me either...but I always worry about that extra class or two the SEC requires for JUCO's

What is it that I'm missing about Brown possibly not qualifying?

He's already qualified and been admitted to Florida. He left there to attend a JUCO.

I would think it would be a simple matter for him to qualify to UT, maybe meeting a minimum GPA threshold?

Have to have so many credit hours and a certain GPA. Also, you have to give your SAT/ACT scores when you transfer colleges. He's at his second college, so total GPA will come into play as usual. Has to take certain classes too.

Ok what is the GPA req and class req?

The way people make it sound the req is a 3.0 gpa but I would think that 2.0 is what would be expected.

Is he having a hard time keeping a 2.0?

I really hope these 3 all qualify and have an immediate impact. These are 3 positions of concern and we need the talent and the competition to make everyone better. I just wish we had one more QB (preferably a scrambler) that was coming in as a juco. I believe that Clark and Rivera will have the most impact b/c of thier size and experience.

You seen our depth at DT? Let's hope Brown has the most impact.

I don't know details but once an athlete begins the academic process he has to stay on a certain track towards graduation to remain eligible. One reason Rogan had to take NFL option. Not sure where Brown is on that track but if he is say one class short in August, he cannot get into UT.. I would assume that is a concern at this point because he has to finish up "strong" is what I continue to hear.

Always a concern with the Juco guys that don't enroll early. If they don't come into school in January, then you have to sweat their eligibility until they get enrolled into school. None are a sure thing until then..

As far as high school kids, even if they arrive on campus don't count them until Clearinghouse clears them. I've seen way too many jerked off the practice field in August and sent to junior college, Leonard Little being one...
