This game really unraveled for Boise. Congrats to Golesh for winning this one in such dominating fashion. But, it was fumbles and poor coaching decisions when playing from behind that doomed Boise. Now everyone that had Boise as the G5 CFP team are looking really dumb.

ND barely lost and has a strength of schedule where they could rebound.

Boise, as a G5 team, has to be ranked higher than every other G5 team. There is little room for error. Losing is one thing. But getting blown out is another. And with their schedule, the only other big win they could build their resume with is against Notre Dame. They would probably have to go undefeated the rest of the way to stand a chance. I suppose it is still theoretically possible though.

I recently got into Boise State's MBA program and was really excited to root for them some today.. after today's game I must say maybe I'm the Vols curse bc that was a SLACKING.

Golesh has done a great job there. I think some people (including myself) expected them to take a little bit bigger step forward last year after getting off to such a hot start in year one, but that is kind of quibbling. He took over a complete train wreck (had gone 8-37 the previous 4 seasons).

The improvement of USF’s defense was notable.

I think this game was a lot of was a note on just where Golesh has brought this team. I have a feeling this won't be the last time we hear from them this season. They are going to cause Florida or Miami a lot of trouble.

A close game against ND will do a lot for their resume. Look how at the close loss to OR last year. If they play a close/cut throat memorable game they can still make it. They almost lost last years season opener to an even worse opp.
