Mike Norvell is Butch 2.0.....riding the success of something someone else built. Not to mention Riley Ferguson is his version of Josh Dobbs.

And money....to the tune of $8-10 million a year lures a lot of so called “Big Hires” to any school...most HC’s nation wide in Power 5 conference schools average $4 million a year.....doubling someone’s salary.....it will flip a lot of minds to really change their tune.

Yep swing for the fence...but Thamel is fairly well respected.

Uh, no he isn't.

He literally fabricated and pushed fake stories about multiple colleges, including the one you're claiming to be a fan of.

Just as people are basing UT job, to some degree of ranking of last 10 years on the field, putting us closer to the Nebraska realm than UF, doesn't mean it's reality. Additionally, people are judging UT's competence based on dysfunctional nature of previous two AD's and UTAD. Currie different than previous, and UTAD more unified now than in the past 10 years...along w/ new chancellor. We're going to set things right this time.

If we hire Brohm or Norvell and Florida gets Chip, Frost, or Mullen, we might as well close down the football program.

I live in a Memphis suburb, so I’ve seen a lot of Norvell. The guy just does everything right. With a good defensive coordinator, I think he can win big. I’d shoot for the big names with more experience (Gruden, Franklin, Patterson, etc) but if Currie “settles” for Norvell, he’s a serious upgrade over Butch. He’d have the Vols in the endzone a lot next season. The man is an offensive innovator. Justin Fuente did great work, but Norvell has taken the Memphis program up a notch in pretty much every facet.

Yep when Butch had Josh Dobbs replace Justin Worley...our team looked better and better and then powerful last season. That’s what an NFL caliber QB can do for a program. Tennessee can’t afford that chance this time or we will be set back another ten years.

Who gives a big damn what Thamel or whatever his name is thinks. I hope Currie goes after Chip Kelly and offers him enough to say yes. Please make it happen. I don't want another 5 and gone. No more google guys. No more cross your fingers guys. I want a proven winner this time. I'm old and tired of waiting. lol

I can support this, living in Memphis and being familiar with his work as well.

Norvell is winning with Fuentes players..He hasn't proven anything yet...Not qualified

I keep seeing this over and over.

Norvells players are better than Fuente’s were, and Lynch was already gone to the NFL.

Norvell recruits a higher level than Fuente ever did.

The fact that any coach can maintain anything at Memphis, especially after losing a NFL talent QB, is quite impressive.

Both too unproven especially Norvell...just winning at Tiger High with JF players

Patterson

Brohm is a winner and did a great job at Western. He knows how to attack a defense, something this staff has no clue about.

Norvell, from what Ive seen, gets the ball to his play makers, another trait this staff doesn't do.

My concern is defense and recruiting. Neither have experience at this level at both of those very important factors.

Hopefully no!! We need a proven coach much more proven than Norvell or Brohm. I think Mullen is a great choice we should ask if he wants to come here. Frost would love to have. Chip Kelly or another former NFL coach we don't want to get on the Merry go Around again must have a winner this time.

I'll take

Patterson
Gundy

If Gruden does not pan out???

Mullen's hit his peak and is still 0-9 against Bama
(lol)
Reminds me of looking at a turtle :)

Neither, they don't pass the Google test. If you have to Google a coach like Dooley and Jones they will suck. No more googles.
