If you want to go to Johnson City which isn't far from Bristol there is a reasturant called Hokie Smokey. It's a VT/UT themed reasturant. Should be a pretty good atmosphere in their this weekend and the BBQ is good too.

Im going to enjoy the atmosphere of the whole thing and to be honest, if we play like we did last week, I dont care if I can see it anyway. I am expecting better though!

I will definately try a couple of these places.

Are there any decent places within walking distance from the stadium?

Nope. It's pretty much on it's own. There will probably be some vendors outside that will be selling food, booze, and gear.

My father in law used to go to the races every year and suggested ridge wood as well

About once every six weeks or so I get so frustrated with carolina-style BBQ here in Asheville, that I have to make the trek over to Bluff City. About an hour and fifteen each way, but so worth it.

Downtown Bristol has a decent variety of places to try. All fairly close together as well.

What kind of atmosphere are you looking for?

As close to tailgating as it gets. I just dont want to bring a lot of stuff with me, would rather just chill with others, drink some cold beer, eat some grub, throw some cornhole, listen to music etc.

I say just head down to the track and walk around until you find some friendly Vol fans!

For some reason when I originally read your comment I thought it said someone wanted to share a ride.
