My wife actually said, "no one is excited about playing tough defense without the Third Down for What." I think she's right....

What ever did Tennessee do back in the days when they were good? Was there a gimmicky tune played back in the 90's?

I don't recall hearing anything.

Now, 3rd and Chavis was a thing, so maybe they should have had something...

I am not against it, nor am I for it. Bottom line: Butch has announced it will not be used this season. The exact language of it was short and concise, meaning this decision is final, and the discussion is closed.

But feel free to keep typing arguments for it. Exercises in futility is a way of life here.

I think it's played out and hate it BUT... atmosphere was much wilder with it opposed to the 3-6 tune. Just a fact.

Still don't understand the reasoning behind switching it to 3-6. It predates 3DFW by several years.

Still waiting for Copperhead Road ...

Ye!!! Please bring it back! If you don't think it energized everyone in the stadium you are 1). blind 2). Sit in your seat all game and don't make any noise 3). Never attend games. It 100% made a difference. The new stuff sucks

However I don't think they will because of the lawsuit bs.

I completely agree. Neyland has been void of energy and this is a quick and easy way to get the crowd into it. Once the music starts, even the blue hairs know what to do!

On this matter CBJ 8/29/16: "We're going to do some things a little bit different on third down," Jones said. "We'll mix up some different songs, so we won't have 'Third Down for What,' but we'll have some different songs to get our crowd energized, and obviously we have the Pride of the Southland Band as well."



So CBJ not truthful. Didn't hear anything but one song Saturday.

Title IX lawsuit killed third down for what. It won't be played again. Was specifically cited as an example of how TN athletics condones sexual violence.
