This morning, I was thinking about how Tennessee is poised to be even better in the future than we are now. All of Pruitt's recruits are officially gone now and these future teams are all Heupels .

1. Our NIL is elite. Getting a guy like David Sanders would have been unthinkable even a couple years ago.

2. Speaking of David Sanders, Glen Ellerbee does seem to have a developmental piece to him. Lance heard is unrecognizable from last year in the best way possible and Jesse Perry is good. Outside of the penalty, sham looked good as well. Turns out, we can get someone from high school and turn them into SEC lineman. We had plenty of questions about his recruitment and development and now he is starting to shine.

3. Play against Georgia, it was evident that we lack in linebacker depth. Inge is a huge upgrade in recruiting. We've got plenty of dudes on the way to help and even higher caliber players.

4. I was mildly concerned that Alex goalesh was the creativity behind our offense. Turns out, we haven't had a quarterback that allows for creativity since Hooker. Our offense is fun again.

5. Speaking of offensive creativity, Georgia had the blueprint to beat us badly with this offense under Heupel until this year. There's wrinkles Heupel provided gave Georgia fits. We almost had 500 yards against Georgia. Brazzell had more receiving yards against Georgia than we had passing yards against Georgia last year.

6. Another position coach who received a lot of flack last year was Kelsey Pope. These receivers look great and we have even better players coming in!

7. Finally, Josh Heupel is obsessive over the game of football. I have no doubt in my mind that he won't play conservative again if we have the chance to cut the head off the snake. Dude has learned, adapted, and unlike previous coaches, he's quite likeable.

It's good to be a Tennessee vol

Heupel is still learning and growing as a coach. I absolutely feel like the program is in good hands. Will there be some head scratching and frustrating moments from time to time, yes. But I do feel like we are continuing to improve under his leadership.
Absolutely. He has shown the ability to adapt which is why we threw it so much against Georgia. He's not stubborn but a student. I can't believe we fell into him

I hope you’re right about the conservative play. That’s been a game loser for years; with Fulmer especially. It’s frustrating when coaches get scared and stop doing the things at the end of the game that got them in the lead to begin with! Kirby’s expression in the first quarter was like he was trying to get a grasp on what was happening. We need to keep the pressure on and mix things up, especially at the end.
