With the injury to Paige in the practice, I have emailed Mike Hamilton asking if there will be anything done safety wise to the field. There will be many more injuries as close as it is.

His address is:
mhamilton@tennessee.edu

Lets see if we can get something done as a group about this. I know my one email will mean nothing. I would hope the injury last night will get something done without fans having to give input.

they already beat you to the punch and have started adding padding around the parts close to the field.

When I first read where Paige hit a "brick wall", I thought at first it might have been EB!!!! Sorry for the poor attempt at humor, but I was just hoping here.

The only reason that pads weren't already up is the donor didn't want the brick covered. That's why MH is now saying the pads will be the same color as the brick.

I doubt my email did it.

Here is his response...he responded within 5 minutes.

the only difference from what we had before is the brick facade. The wall previously had a thin protective pad, which we'll add back but it had a concrete wall behind it.. During the regular season there are also individuals typically standing in the end zone which has provided for extra barrier between the field and the wall. We don't want anyone hurt. Thanks for coming last night. Go Vols- Mike

pretty impressive that Hamilton, who so many on here seem to think is about as competent as a pet rock, e-mailed you back within 5 minutes on a Saturday, a Saturday in which his second biggest team is playing in the SEC semis, the baseball team is dealing with rain, the track team is competing in the Indoor Championships and swimming is even going on.

Blackberrys are useful tools.

Crompton made a strange statement. Was that ever in question?

“Obviously, nobody intended for that to happen to him,” Crompton said.

obviously, but the fact that he took the time right before tipoff to respond to a fan is still pretty remarkable.

It was 5 minutes. I then sent him a second email, not related, and I have heard nothing from it.

I thought we were building a wall around the state. I clearly misunderstood.

Now you're just getting greedy. I don't know how many times MH has to tell you he will not auction off an "evening with Berry."

Nah...the second one was related to a function Adidas puts on during the summer.
