Rob Lewis was able catch a peek of Brian recently and was stunned. He says that he couldn't believe how in shape he looks. When we took his commitment, he was around 315-330. He was down to around 300 a while later. Rob said he is down to about 280 now and doesn't even look chubby. He may not redshirt at all now, even if Tyler Smith gets in.

remind me again how tall he is

this is certainly great news, I suspect he knew he'd have to be in awesome shape to make it up and down the court in Pearl's system.

This is what Jerry Meyer of Rivalshoops had to say about Williams:

"I do feel that Williams has game. He is tough to score over defensively because you can't move him down low and can't score through him. Offensively, he was comfortable with the ball and looked skilled. If he can keep up with the pace, he can play. Rob Lewis' news is a great report for Tennessee fans."

Bdub will average about 10+/- minutes per game THIS year. Tony Jones says so. And yes, he's all of 6'9"

Bdub is a classic post move player. He rebounds like Crews, but has a very nice touch on his short range jumper. He can hit the 3 too on occasion, but we won't be asking him to do that. We've got Chilly and Chism for that.

Crews can actually hit the 3 and has been practicing it some. Jones actually said 20 minutes, but that was before the Tyler Smith stuff. He may get 10, but I'd say closer to 7-8 if he doesn't redshirt.

I'll be honest, I was wondering why Pearl signed him, but that's why Im not the coach

I thought it was questionable at the time, but I've learned to not question Pearl. He is usually right.

yea i noticed that his shot has good form and he is a good free throw shooter as well. Although he looks like he's never picked up a bball at times, he seems to have potential with that jump shot

I hope Crews can develop a consistent jumper, but I'd MUCH rather him develop some low post-up moves around the basket. He just seems lost when he doesn't have a clear path to the rim.

I never knew the anchor on NBC Evening News had such basketball skills and was so big. I would've thought he was out of college already.. hehe

He comes from the same prep school as Tabb. Both have similar attitudes and work ethics.

I'll bet that Pearl has faith in that coaching staff. Maybe because of the way Tabb has worked since he got to Knoxville. If there is anything that Pearl seems to value in a player it is drive. Everyone that Pearl puts on the court really wants the win. You can see it in the way that they play. That's why I've had so much fun watching the Basketball team since Pearl arrived.
