When we played UGA in athens they destroyed us with their size. BW has to be involved this time around. Take away GA's bigs and they have nothing. We cannot let them out-rebound us again.

Chism/Hall/Williams can get it done against Price/Barnes/Thompkins

It was painful to watch him against Cousins. He got owned on one play in particular. I mean OWNED.

I heard he lost some weight when he came here.... but he is still to big for bruce's system

Yes, Cousins did a spin move and Williams did not even move. He can help but he really needs more motivation.

Williams came in to do one thing during the UK game--foul Cousins. If we weren't in foul trouble, he probably wasn't going to see the court.

Everytime Cousins pulls that spin move he hooks the defender with his arm...isn't that illegal? I have seen him do it maybe 20 times this year and it hasn't been called once.

Yes it is against the rules! The players call it the chicken wing and while they won't always call traveling in pickup games and the NBA, everyone always calls the chicken wing!! You're allowed to execute the spin move where you hook the player with your elbow, but no one is supposed to be able to hook a player with their full arm or drop their hand and essentially push the defender by them. If was just another example of the horrible officiating in the SEC that has apparently carried over from football season!

There were large portions of that game where you could tell that our players were playing disjointed, because they'd have a guy falling over their back in the lane, going over the back for rebounds and there would be no call. When their calling ticky tack fouls on us on the other end of the court, players have a difficult time understanding what style of game the referees are going to allow. It was sad!!

in other news:

the refs have f'd us over in the last 2 games..... Vandy shot 22 more FT's than we did....KY shot 17 more

You should rename the title of this thread, its sounds like you're saying it's a fact that BW will play more against UGA...like Bruce said it or something. Where really you are just saying he needs to play more.

Cousins "owning" people is not anything new. Some of us really take Chism's defense for granted.

For the record, he did hook him with the arm and that is supposed to be illegal; however, I haven't seen anyone call him on it all year.

I think we all knew he would play more than the 3 minutes he'd played since the suspension. What I'm surprised about is the impact he had on the game.

yeah by play more i didn't mean go from 3 minutes to 6

he played 18 against ga......he minimized ga's physical presence

thompkins is just a beast and will make serious $$$ in the NBA
