Continuing the slide off topic I'm very conflicted on Chism out there shooting 3's. Obviously he wouldn't be doing it in every game if he didn't have Bruce's endorsement.

Granted some of the shots he takes aren't the best shot that we need at the time but that can be said for any player.

I think he hits enough of them to make it worth the threat. When you can have a big guy that goes that far out and can hit shots or atleast poses the threat that really forces the defense to spread out. Which could lead to a decline in rebounding having our big guys up top but I feel like if Bruce could just get them to follow their shots we'd be fine.

Well of course he has the green light from Bruce, I was saying he shouldn't. He should be restricted in some way. Bruce seems to be ok with him taking covered 3's on 2-3 straight possesions (yes i have seen this).

I agree with your assesment of the value of having a big guy that is a good perimiter shooter. I'm not sold on Chism playing that role. Sure, he can hit a 3 every now and then, but he's not a guy that will knock it down every time you leave him open, forcing defenders to come out and guard him. After watching the tapes from this year, if I was Memphis, I would give him that shot all night.

Did someone mention that he is called "Anchorman" by some of his cohorts?

Anchorman...

winner, winner, chicken dinner!

He has to be a lot more consistent to keep that moniker.

Big props to him for missing a few pancake breakfasts with Brick, Champ, and the gang. I wonder if he plays jazz flute?

Hahaha I like that. I can't believe I didn't think of that. I know his name on facebook is Brian "Big Baby" Williams so apparently he is a fan of it.

My personal favorite nickname I've been trying to spread is calling Wayne Chism "cheese" because half the time he looks like someone told him to say "cheese" with the big grin on his face. I've been trying to develop some sort of science-related nickname to explain how that headband stays on his head too...if there are any suggestions or other good nicknames for players please post them...

How about "Velcro".

Haha I think I'm going to try to propose it for the ballot for the next "Wonders of the World" thing. He does seem to have it knocked off about once a game and he doesn't play as well without it (I like to tell myself that anyway). Big Cheese is quite the character.

Brian Williams has played very well and is only going to get better. So when he is starting and dominating the inside in a couple years all you bashers better stay off the bandwagon.

But what if he doesn't:)
It's easy to say, watch out for him in the next few years because he hasn't played basketball for long. We're just playing around, and we want Williams to do good. All in good fun, sir

I like the optimism....but I would have to disagree with him being a dominant inside player. He will be better, no doubt, just not dominant....IMO.
