Someone said the guys on the team call him "Big Baby". If this is the case, I do not like the recycled nickname (nor did I like it to begin with).

I know if I was on the team I would enjoy teasing him about teaching himself how to play ball with video games. It is amazing that he didn't play HS Bball. I've been calling him X-Box (heard others say "gamecube"). Me and my friends will joke around when he makes a good play and say "that must have been L-1 and Square".

Hahaha I like that. I can't believe I didn't think of that. I know his name on facebook is Brian "Big Baby" Williams so apparently he is a fan of it.

My personal favorite nickname I've been trying to spread is calling Wayne Chism "cheese" because half the time he looks like someone told him to say "cheese" with the big grin on his face. I've been trying to develop some sort of science-related nickname to explain how that headband stays on his head too...if there are any suggestions or other good nicknames for players please post them...

I like the positive attitude...

and I think you're right, I look forward to him growing into the game. For now though, couldn't help but poke a little fun...

lol..agreed...I put that because of how fast some people are on here to take up for him....even after sub par performances.

Wow I didn't know there was this much hating going on towards B-Dub. Give him time, he has the tools to be a presence inside. I will admit he does play a little slow.

To the 1st poster - Chism's headband is ridiculous. Put the damn thing on so you don't have to worry about it falling off all the time!

Okay, I know I was probably the last one to find out Williams didn't play High School BB. I heard it a couple of weeks ago while watching a game. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. He has some work to do, but I think the guy is pretty darn good not to have played ball in HS. If this is the case how did he end up playing for UT and is he on scholarship? Does anyone know that story behind him?

His story is that he was sitting on the couch everyday playing video games and eating potato chips. His brother told him one day, "you need to do something with your life".........he said "eh, I guess ill go play basketball somewhere"

Not sure what happened after that, but that is simply HILARIOUS!

Yes he is on scholarship, he was recruited just like any other scholarship player. This is like that movie blue-chips (except shaq was a little more of a raw talent)

That's a great story! Pretty impressive too.
