Well, birds of a feather flock together.

I am sure that CJP coaches 'em hard during the week. I'm sure that his staff coaches 'em hard during the week.

But MANY on here didn't like what CJP said at half-time of the BAMA game where he said that he'd recruit 25 players who would do it right. He said that there were very few guys who were doing it right, and he promised to recruit players who would join them and give them the help they needed.
But he NEVER called anyone out by NAME...even the ones who were doing it right. He just made that promise.

I think it was also after this game where Warrior and Buchanon both said there were players who weren’t doing things right and Warrior stopped himself from naming players.

The ones who are behind this staff know who he’s talking about, so do the ones who quit, they’ll be gone and we’ll have 25 coming in who want to do it right

Vandy had more talent then us....lol. Why is jt not okay to acknowledge pruitt didnt do a very good job tonight and leading up to tonight?
It’s both. Vandy does indeed have more talent, is a much better team....AND Pruitt did a poor job to get his team to even compete.

Show me a game.where they got blown out?

They still appeared to get worse. I never said we looked better our first year. Not trying to change your agenda in wanting yet another coaching search. Some people enjoy the coaching search more than the actual season.

And the reason the have better teams is because ours is/was poorly coached. For vandy anyway.

As I said, you want to blame Pruitt. It's you're opinion. I say it's mostly what he inherited. That's my opinion. Feel free not to respond and let's just agree to disagree.

Peace..

Pruitt didnt do a good job this year. Vandy was a 5-6 team that blew us out. Its really that simple. It's his job to ensure the team is prepped and ready to play, they werent.

This is the same team that got the crap kicked out them last year by the same Vandy team. A lot of people on here assumed we wouldn’t win more than three games this year, but hey look at that we did win 5 and beat two ranked opponents.

So to say Pruitt didn’t do a good job this year is a bit overblown and not giving credit for the good things this team accomplished this year.

There are players on this team that are soft and play that way. We all see it, no amount of coaching is going to help that, eventually you cut your losses and move on. Which we will see this offseason.

We’ll see a number of players told to move on, and Pruitt will get ones who want to be here.

Now sure there were times when the coaching could’ve been better but there were more times where these players could’ve done better.

If we do have a big exit of players then we’ll find out real quick next season if it was players or coaching.

The more I see various tweets and supposed feedback from those on the team or close to it, the more I get the feeling that a significant portion (maybe 5 or 10 players) of the players actively sandbagged the last 2 games so that they would not go bowling. While we as fans, think a bowl game (even a toilet bowl), would be awesome, not just for the game but for all the extra practices which we sorely need. But what if some players dont want those extra practices? By all accounts, CJP and the S&C staff are more demanding than last years regime. Could it be that guys got used to sitting on their fat asses last year and didnt want to give up their holidays, nor did they want the tough practices or continual workouts? They just wanted to coast on their scholly and suck up the benefits while they can.

I think the coaches cant avoid responsibility for the garbage we saw in the last few weeks but if the above is true, it perhaps makes things more understandable to me. It also would explain a lot of Pruitt's comments and why a team who can beat two ranked SEC teams, can barely beat Charlotte and gets crushed by VANDY. All it takes is 1-2 guys on an 11 man line up to not care about winning, maybe even secretly hoping to lose, and you utterly destroy any ability to make plays (1 gap in the line, 1 missed tackle, is all that is needed).

I hope this isnt the case but I strongly suspect it is, and if so, Pruitt needs to clean house - meaning, even if we dont have the full roster of schollys. Better to have only young players who WANT TO BE HERE and WANT TO WIN than more "experienced" losers who want neither. And by clean house, I mean get rid of EVERYONE who doesnt have a motor on full blast. It is one thing not to have the natural talent, it is quite another not to have the drive. Those players are poisons ("canceers") that cannot be allowed to infect the locker room.

The fact that you think I want another coaching shows how weak your argument is.

Pruitt is ultimately responsible for the teams overall performance.

Yes but my god you can’t say with upmost certainty that there weren’t players cashing in and already looking ahead to the holidays. It was very evident. You can coach and try to motivate players all you want but if they aren’t determined to get better and perform then it’s soley on the players a**

I would be cautious putting a lot of credibility into these revelations that many on our team quit. Not saying it didnt happen but it may be spin to cover for coaching issues.

Just posted in another thread on this very subject about what to do to start the "recovery".

I read his comments after the game yesterday to indicate players are getting playing time simply because there is no other choice. There is always another choice. Play the walk on's if you need to, I can respect that.

Yeah I’m betting that Pruitt told these players to come out and say this stuff, especially the seniors who no longer have a dog in the fight...

I was specifically talking about vandy.

Surely possible but I keep thinking on Pruitts comments about players who "wanted to play the right way" and "how you practice is how you play" etc. Maybe he was able to get the slacker guys to RAH RAH up for some games in the middle of the year but toward the end, they see that they are losers, they are not going to the NFL, so what is the point of them working hard when they can just coast into mediocrity?

There’s got to be a more rewarding experience for the players than just 15 more practices and a bag full of gifts. Like most seasons I’ve seen, there’s always a group of players who’s season don’t go like they wanted and they’re ready to leave. Leadership doesn’t let that attitude spread.

If I were coach the winter workouts would cut a lot of them out. In fact, if allowed, they’d have two a days during winter due to no bowl trip. Run in morning, lift in afternoon. If not, we’d have meetings every morning at 6am. All those great facilities, resources & people up there doing your school work for you wasn’t built on 25 pts losses to Vandy, 40 pt losses to Alabama etc.
