I don't think Brian fully understands what the transaction is between fans, the university, and himself.

Having to work hard is not the only cost for getting the opportunity to play on a field where people will pay thousands of dollars to watch you. Not even close.

What I Would say to young Mr Maurer:
Most Vol fans are fans of their team for life, not just four or five years.
Most support their team and school with their hard earned money and their time for life.
Most emotionally spend countless amounts of joys (and many heartbreaks) with the Vols for life.
As long as it it not done on a personal venomous nature, Vol fans indeed have the right to analyze and criticize the play of THEIR team.

Shame on the football staff, etc for not doing a better job teaching these kids how this program was actually built. It sure as hell wasnt built by whats been over there the last 10 years!

If it was about the last 10 years, they'd play in a stadium like Vandy's with 5,000 fans!

Barry Switzer once said this about OU "Players and coaches come and go but the fans are the ones who feed this monster."

Honestly, people should stop supporting the university financially. Let everyone get the message that the fans are the major financial contributors and are tired of paying for a lousy product. I’m done purchasing UT gear and going to games. It’s my alma matter, and I won’t be making any donations either. I’m tired of this clown show.

The funds come from a pool. And many different sources feed that pool. Not just fans.

Fine since it's not my team; I wont watch anymore. Should they start winning again and put that "blood, sweat and tears" to good use and make games interesting again, I may come back. As of right now, all these losses are doing is freeing up quite a bit of time on my Saturdays to do other things!

I get what he's saying... but there IS NO TEAM without us. And most people aren't taking unfair shots at players. I think most of us like the players and want them to be successful. Most even state support for BM if he chooses to try another school.
