What you, or I discuss here has zero bearing in the the players, coaches, or program as a whole. Those who choose to direct tweet to a player are a different story. That is a very real problem, and one we have seen before with clowns like Sabanochio.

You obviously don't grasp people that age, or the technology they use. I was just told by my 21 year old football player that forums like this, and talk radio are "boomer methods of communication". They do not provide what guys that age want...instant feedback ad gratification. He laughed at the assertion any player cares what happens on boards and forums. Get over yourself.
Not unlike our current problems in the country. People not living in the real world...

I don’t need luck. I’ve invested many years of time and research into not having to rely on getting lucky. Go back to the other thread and argue with Butchna. He’s well out of your league as well but he enjoys it.
 
Donations which numbers in the millions are not necessarily fans...

I would say the money donated to the AD who are NOT fans might pay for one load of laundry.

My dad used to say, "don't get mad, get cool mad".... Which to me, meant what you just said.

Yes, Brian. This is your team. You are a select few privileged and able to play. You know the struggles we can only imagine. However, this team represents something we all cleave to...we all hold sacred. Without us, there is no you. There is no team. We are all one. Just as a board of directors answers to its shareholders, your coach and athletic directors answer to stakeholders. Those to pay money for tickets/merchandise/tuition are stakeholders. So yes, it is our team too.
 
I like what he said. People on here that criticize these players each week, he is talking to you.

The only player I have ever criticized on this site is JG, and given the way he has played this year, he deserved it and even he knows it. That’s part of being a man. If I’m underperforming, I fully expect everybody and their brother to jump my *ss.

I will criticize the coaching staff all day long. They’re the ones who put the product on the field.

2. People are critical because they care. You went to Tennessee because they care. You get more criticism from family than anyone else. When you get a "D" on your report card, no one cares. Mom cares. Dad cares. You better appreciate the people who are bellyaching. They're the last fans left. Everyone else doesn't give a crap.

3. You ought to be just as upset as the fans. In fact, you ought to be more upset than the fans

4. You're a man now son. Years away from your family? What are you on a deployment to Afghanistan? You're away at college.....something most people your age look forward to.
 
Blaming Maurer for the current state of affairs is like blaming the AP clerk for a string of cruddy earnings calls. No one blames the employees. Shareholders blame management

It’s being overblown. Someone earlier said it best “we’re taking a small piece of what really happened and creating a big picture” . That’s what’s happening here. He wasn’t talking to ALL fans. He was responding to someone being critical of JG and chose his words wrong.

A former classmate of mine flew out to Bend that time for the Oregon game a few years ago during Butch's first season. He spent close to $2,000 on airfare, hotel, tickets, merch, etc. Subsequent trips to Gainesville, Bama, Missouri. Near the end of the season he finally broke and put his season tickets up. Said he just couldn't keep spending hundreds of dollars to go to a game and watch them lose over and over. After a while it takes a toll on one's soul. We've all been there. Late 4th quarter, staring into the void as the rival team scores another easy touchdown. Wondering all the while if the money, time, emotion we spent was really worth it all.

Then the Maurer bit, idk. I'm sure some asshat fans probably got to him on social media. But lashing out only makes it worse; no maturity.

Yeah, i have 3 boys and it gets expensive, we have to be smart with our money.
