I hope he plays lights out but you are completely correct.Objectively using data on hand we are better with JG.
Listen to Josh Ward podcast a couple of days after the Florida debacle as he lays it out in detail.
BM performed at a ridiculously low level and he is likely to not perform better against a better defense.
I hope he plays lights out but you are completely correct.
JG has been much better. BM has passed the ball very poorly so far. I'm sure Pruitt is looking for a spark to the team though.
Some people won't care that he is much worse if he performs poorly. Their hate for JG overrides their want to win and play the best players.
The post right under yours is a good example. Eff the data, we have emotions to go off of. lol
It is a team game. But putting individuals in situations set for failure is a good way to not attract individuals to your next team. Future players want to see examples of players being made better. Barnes with our basketball players being a great example. All this is for argument's, I'm not claiming Maurer isn't ready.
Was just talking about this earlier. I'm usually wrong, but I said I bet Pruitt looks for a reason to put JG back in and won't be surprised to see it in the 3rd or 4th series. Obviously unless he's just lighting it up.Naw. Maurer would have to get injured or have like 3 turnovers in first half to get pulled.
This will forever stunt JG's growth and development as a QB

And I also agree with MWA, which isn't often. After the first two or three turnovers, everyone that wanted Maurer will be calling for JG and Firing Pruitt again.
Well, I guess Pruitt and Chaney (and maybe Fulmer?) felt like this was the way to go. Dawgs corners are pretty banged up, and I'm sure TN is aware of that. I would expect your talented receiver corps to be able to get separation. Perhaps Maurer is the guy who can get it in their hands. If he has time, he might do something special. It would be a great story, that's for sure.Just looking at the stats it looks much worse than it was. Stats are misleading. 4/11 speaks to his accuracy.... it doesn’t tell you that several were batted at the line. It doesn’t tell you that of the 3 deep passes 2 of those were throw aways. Now the pick... the mistake he made was starring at DWA and hesitation giving the corner time to recover, but let’s not act like it wasn’t on target. 2 sacks.... one was against a blitz where he was a shoestring tackle away from possibly putting 6 on the board. That’s the only time Mullen blitzed him and was that close to paying for it. Needless to say he didn’t do it again. The other was immediate pressure up the middle of 2 free rushers. He recognized it and beat the def to the edge getting out of bounds for a 2 yard loss. Any other qb and that was 7 yard sack. Because both resulted in a loss of yardage TECHNICALLY yes... they were sacks. But he got away both times.
Im not going to say that he’ll set the world on fire tonight or this season for that matter. He needs time to become the qb he’s very capable of being.
I wish some of you would just go ahead and say it as you mean it and stop beating around the bush..."You don't like Jeremy Pruitt because he is from Alabama"!Its bending to public will - people think they don't have an impact, and they actually do.
Some on here got their idiotic wish. We flush another potentially good player because he wasn't cheerful and happy about being arrested and said some really stupid stuff.
Maybe. But my thinking is that as long as Maurer holds his own, this game is just another scrimmage for him to get ready for Mississippi State because that game is winnable. So having the week to install a game plan for him going in UGA is part of that practice for Maurer to get used to.
I just think if Maurer gets hurt or has a case of fumblitis, he stays in the whole game
Coaches obviously feel the same way you do. I said somewhere else the Dawgs corners are pretty banged up. It's probably your biggest advantage, what with the talent you have at WR. If this kid pulls it off, they should name a street after him.And what was the score when he came in?
I’m eager to see what happens with our offense with a new QB with it 0-0 on scoreboard.
I hope he plays lights out but you are completely correct.

A street? If Maurer wins this game, I'm writing him in for President next November.Coaches obviously feel the same way you do. I said somewhere else the Dawgs corners are pretty banged up. I'll never forget that fake pass Dobbs did in that game, and completely fooled the defender. It had me so fired up, even though I knew we'd lose that game.We will either be happy at what a difference a QB change makes (Dobbs against Bama 2014) or be completely dejected that it doesn’t make a difference at all. If he does decent today I’ll be a little miffed though because it means we would’ve beaten GAstate and BYU.
I'm not arguing that isn't a good plan and what should happen. Just saying I don't completely trust Pruitt right now. Hate to say it but it is what it is. I haven't given up on him and I still have some optimism, but until I get "something", I'm skeert. Lol.
