I thought Brewer and Lathers were bright spots on defence Saturday. I didn't pay attention to Zack Fulton too much at Guard, anyone see anything? Any other players that stood out?

Yeah, I know this isn't a fire CDD, play Bray or "ef all the fans who left early" thread, but well, I'd like to discuss something of substance for a while...:whistling:

Lathers had some brutal hits on Opie. Brewer looked pretty good too, considering he's been playing baseball.

Art Evans stood out! well actually he didn't stand out because you see him on any of the julio receptions because it wasn't even in the picture!...ok sorry i had to vent real quick.

I thought they both made some good plays. More from Lathers but he also missed some assignments. I thought Da'Rick made some good plays as well. We'll get there...eventually.

He stood out alright. It was painfully obvious Saturday night who the worst CB in the SEC is.

It's okay, we're with you brother. . .:eek:k: focus on the positive even if you have to look hard to find it!

Brewer looks like Tarzan , hope he doesn't play like Jane. In all seriousness though he made a few decent plays and got torched by Richardson, so it's a mixed bag there.

Brewer was definitely out of position on that long TD run by Richardson. Other than that I think he played pretty well considering how long he's been out of the game.

He was the deep safety on that play. I would think due to his size/speed that he'd be playing the "SS" or forward safety depending on our formation instead of Jackson. Jackson seems to be more of a coverage guy.

Brewer is definitely looking like he will be a regular contributor.
I have always liked Lathers. I really feel like he will be a star for UT. Defintely my favorite LB.
Anyone see Reveiz take out Ingram near the sideline? After he hit him he was talking some trash at Ingram. That was great. Reveiz is a baller.

Didn't see this. But I hope Lathers continues to play like he did against Bama. At least the Tide had to account for him. The play where he smashed Ingram into young Elroy was great.

Brewer looked a lot better than Waggner. He's so much more physical and looks like a real SS instead of a CB lining up at SS. I hope he's a fixture from now on.

Sadly CBs need to be more physical then Safeties...

And then Ingram ran passed for a very long run later in the game due to being out of position and SLOW and then burned him on the touchdown pass out of the backfield....

Agreed Richardson and Ingram are top 15 picks when they come out. Very similar to Williams and Brown when they were at Auburn- Perhaps better

Richardson likely is, but I'm not so sure on Ingram. Richardson is a bad man. Ingram is a good college running back.

Has Art Evans gotten word on whether or not he will be on "Dancing With The Stars" next season?

Ingram is projected as a top 15 pick by most draft boards. Most compare him to Fred Taylor from FL. I personally do not see it. I see more Ray Rice.

I just don't see it either. I'm not disparaging either, but with the devaluation of running backs over the past couple decades, I don't see any way he's a top 15 football player.

I think Richardson would have similar output regardless of what team he was running for. He and Lattimore are both in that category.

Ingram is a good RB, no doubt, but had the virtue of running behind an excellent OL. He also might not ever make it quite back up to the level he was at due to his injury.
