Couldn't play many freshmen last Saturday. They could have gotten burned on defense, with their inexperience and all.:eek:lol:

We've named 6. Creer, Moore, Rogan, Martin, Vinson and Berry. Who are the other 3?

Counting non-scholarship players, Florida played 47 freshmen and sophomores in the game, which included 17 true freshmen. The Vols played 34 freshmen and sophomores, which included nine true freshmen.

From Chris Low- Volquest.com writer. doesn't say specifically...i'll try and look it up

Perhaps he meant 9 newcomers? Because in that case it would be ten with O'Neal, McKenzie, and Willingham.

when did O'Neal's carry occur? I stopped watching when it was 42-20. Did it happen after this...otherwise I completely missed it?

Go back and watch McKenzie's highlight video again and count the number of "defended passes" in the video. He is a hitter, he has size, OLB is a much better position for him.

True but if you watch his highlight films the majority of those are free ranging kill shots. Not a very good pass defender.

Hmmm... you know what they say about great minds

A cornerback's success will depend greatly on the type of defense his team runs. 90% of the cornerbacks in the NFL can't cover a decent receiver 1 on 1. They need help. The more help a corner gets from his defense, including line, linebackers, and safeties, the better he looks. I would take a strong pass rusher/run stopper over an average corner any day.

They said he was at the Sam LB position, so he would be competing against Karl, Myers-White, and LaMarcus Thompson for PT.

great, we get a juco guy that has 2 years, i assume to come in and fill a need at db, we thought from day one, and now is buried behind 3 others for OLB position with 1 year to play after this...maybe he surprises us all.

McKenzie is a stud...CPF is making alot of changes, which need to be made, but why couldn't they see all this coming through spring drills and scrimmages. I wish someone could count the total personnel moves they make for the entire season.

I think we should bring the fullback back....Bolden! Yeah!

I don't think it's a matter of BV wanting to play defense. I would think that he just wants to get on the field and see some action. As it is he is "not ready to really contribute" I believe is one of the phrases CPF uses with all of our talented freshmen.
Right now he comes in for 5 plays or so a game and gets to attempt a reverse. He might as well don a different colored jersey when he goes out there b/c the D can pretty much say, "Hey the fast kid is in, stay home for the reverse!" And we never test anyone deep so they never have to worry about that.

Sort of on this topic...Volquest.com reports that Vinson and Willinghame are getting a huge number of reps at the Corner spots, Vinson is reportedly making the transition so smoothly Fulmer has nothing but praise for him. Berry has been getting the majority of his reps at SS now.

FS Hefney
SS Berry
CB Vinson
CB Willingham

That's a hell of a secondary imo
