Brent Vinson Full-Time DB?

If you remember, Vinson's Prep School coach said that if he played CB throughout college he would end up being a 1st Day NFL DP at that position.

Then that should be a wake-up call to BV. Maybe he had his heart set somewhere else and realized this is his best bet. The coaches will usually give the guy an option until it's absolutely a no-go (at least they used to). Hope our coaching of DB's doesn't hurt him.

Vinson,Berry and McKenzie would be the best three to put in there. I had also heard that Morley was trying to get back in as well for next year, how awsome would that back field be then.Vinson did play corner and F/S in college and has speed to burn.

with vinson's IQ and GPA, the guy has the brains, he just has not picked up on the defensive reads. i like the idea, but could be scarey, vinson and berry at CB's...mirror images of one another. i would not wait til off season to try it, put him in situations with comfortable leads in a future game. man, we need some size at WR...just one good 6-3, 215 over powering possession receiver, "go to guy" who is the "go to guy" after last week?

Also as a senior Vinson was named All-District as a receiver, DEFENSIVE BACK and return specialist. hrmm. Give the kid a chance Phil.

Vinson saw a little bit of action at Wide Receiver against Florida. Odd that he's the only one you see out there, yet he's the one they're wanting to put at DB.

All that talk of Moore during fall camp and he has what? One or two receptions?

Is Vinson taking Johnson's place? Please tell me he is, Johnson has given up to many deep balls already. Are we going to have a defensive end that can cut off the strech plays?

Ahmad Paige?? Hes my pick as I posted before the season started. Hes 6-3 and 175 a little lite but talking about a speedster man this kid has blazing speed. He was the most productive receiver in the U.S. Army All-American game. I hope he gets a chance cause like I said about Mr. Berry Ahmad will be a star when he leaves UT..JMO. GO VOLS!!

His name is Ben Martin. There has been nothing but high praises on this kid. OSU wanted him for a reason !! He has done nothing but disrupt our offense in every practice. he is hampered with an injury but still gets it done. What gives??

we could have used Ben Martin in the UF game when Tebow kept rolling out finding open receivers in the middle of the field

McKenzie is definately not one of the best to put back there. He couldnt cover Fulmer running a fade route. That is why he has already been moved to LB.

does anyone think that the players arent to blame and no matter who you put back there, they arent getting the proper coaching from Slade? I think our d back have always been the worst aspect of our team. Other than special teams which is already a ton better from the last few years. Fire Fulmer? Fire Chavis? I say, Fire Slade.

well, I say fire anybody that coaches defense. why are we not seeing these playmakers we have? that cannot possibly be any less prepared than the ones we have seen. I really thought Rogers and Taylor were turning into pretty decent possession guys, but screw that after the Florida game. Let's put in the speed and dare somebody to catch us......wow, that sounds familiar...it's working everywhere else

This isn't intended to be a move in BV's best interest; this is a desperation move. Their DB's aren't cutting it, so they're scrolling through the depth chart asking who else might have a chance to help.

This is a crapshoot, a defensive backfield salvage effort.

We were told a much different story. You would think by now our talent evaluation would be a little more sharp.

True but if you watch his highlight films the majority of those are free ranging kill shots. Not a very good pass defender.
