Dooley just announced at press conference

(hope that wasn't old news. I've been outta the loop). Delete if necessary.

Sweet. That helps a lot in the secondary. Now if we can get JJ back I think we will all feel a lot better about the DBs. Here's hoping that JJ can resolve his personal problems and get back to doing what he loves.

Great news. Knowing Dooley this means the charges against Brewer are either false or greatly exaggerated.

Why does everyone love Brewer so much? Every game I saw last year (South Carolina in particular) this guy took some of the worst angles I have ever seen! Trys to hard to get on ESPN for hits instead of just wrapping up the guy.

Well, he plays on my favorite football team for my beloved alma mater and doesn't even take up a scholarship. So the real question is, why wouldn't someone want him on a team that's short on depth and talent anyway?

LOL My thoughts exactly. :) He showed last year that he's got skills (no, not nunchuck skills or bo staff skills), and I think even though he was young last year, he'll come into his own. I'm just glad we're getting the depth back...

Probably because he was time as one of our fastest players, showed flashes of being really good in the UNC game, and he just played football for the first time in like 6-8 years?

JJ won't be back for spring but maybe fall. Daniel Hood to DT. Montori Hughes suspended for two practices, violation of team rules. Bray #1 QB heading into spring, no QB competition will occur.

Not sure if compliment or criticism but said when Bray does "get it" he throws touchdowns to the wrong guys. Also said Matt Simms had a great offseason, whatever that means. M. Jackson claims the DL is reloaded and they're be better. DD apparently still hasn't found a punt (or KO?) returner. Said to a questioner who asked, "You're dreaming."

Linebacker Herman Lathers (right shoulder surgery), offensive lineman Marques Pair (ACL surgery), defensive end Ben Martin (Achilles) and quarterback Nash Nance (foot surgery) all will be unavailable for some or all of spring practice, which begins tomorrow at 4 p.m.

After being completely out of football for 4 years, Brewer came back and over the course of the season earned a starting position as a true Freshman. IMO, he was better as a Freshman than JJ and JJ had Berry to lean on. He weighs over 200 lbs and is over 6' tall. He runs a sub-4.4 40 by "legit" timing as reported here just a few weeks ago.

He has the potential to be a very, very good safety for UT.

Brewer is potentially NFL caliber in two years.
