Breaking...The Tennessean hates us

The Tennessean sux just like the majority of propaganda outlets out there. They used to call me frequently and ask me to subscribe. The last time they called, instead of just hanging up like I usually do with trash calls, I told them the Tennessean is a libturd rag and I don't read it so stop calling me. It worked.

Enough with the blanket bashing of liberals and democrats. As a liberal, I always fervently argue that not all conservative republicans are ignorant, uncultured buffoons. HOWEVER, if you happen to be an ignorant, uncultured buffoon who is looking for a political group to affiliate with, where you will fit in best is a real no brainer.

Plenty of ignorant, uncultured buffoons on your side as well. If they don't like the second amendment they may not have a warm feeling for due process either. I would want to have a judge who will just do their job in this with no liberal or conservative take whatsoever. However, I am seeing most of the TV personalities calling them rapist and victims instead of what they really are at this point. Alledged rapist and victims. They twist it to make CBJ look guilty because it fits the narrative they want to present. It is obvious the reporters at the Tennessean are liberal to the point that they are on the far liberal side you call progressives. Regardless, the reporting so far is for sensationalism with a motivation to destroy UT. If UT is guilty of anything, it needs to be decided by the courts and not the journalist who are not reporting this with balance. This includes Fox, and I use the term journalist loosely.

The background of the journalist is relevant because you can tell it to see if it taints their writing and in this case it does.

I appreciate the specifics, well done. But i literally couldve told you exactly who the people writing/promoting the stories at Pravda are without knowing their names. If you left the names off and just wrote the "demographics" you just outlined, you could describe approximately 99.7% of every media outlet/newspaper in the country.

The outlier being Fox News, which slants the same BS but from another perspective so it appeals to a different demographic. Same Bull though.

It probably worked because once you used the term "libturd" they realized you likely cannot read and therefore have no use for a subscription to a newspaper.

It's what sells--newspapers are having a tough go of it with so many getting their news on the web, so they have to opt for sensationalism rather than fair and unbiased reporting. Unfortunately, it's not just the Tennessean although they do a particularly good job at selling subscription through sensationalism

I have no idea why being a democrat has anything to do with this.

Stop with this political partisanship. There are many democrats LIKE ME that support the University of Tennessee and won't make any rash judgments about the players or coaches based on mere accusations.
Because illustrating their partisanship helps to highlight a recurring theme in American journalism...Facts are not important nor necessary so long as your political affiliation is that of a Democrat. It also illustrates an "idea monopoly" if you will that is enjoyed by the "left" in American media. Why is it that 90+% of "journalists" identify themselves as "liberal?" Ask yourself if it's more likely they were hired because they are the superior journalists, or if they are sought out for their belief systems.

I find it ironic that you use "uncultured" as an attack towards conservatives yet, whenever conservatives attempt to demonstrate culture, they are labeled racists/bigots/xenophobes/homophobes/sexists and then civilly sued for the next handful of years. Seems to me from my seat that being "cultured" is very taboo anymore, no?

So he asks you not to blanket bash liberals, and specifically says he does NOT think all conservatives are "uncultured", and you in turn say he's attacking conservatives and you proceed to blanket bash liberals again?

Somebody missed the point of his post badly. Also, stop misusing the word "ironic" Alanis.

Seem "ironic" to me that you have only 2 posts and they both seems more appropriate for a political website that a sports message board. Trump/Palin 2016

Ah yes! Ok for libs to make up lies or spout half truths, but when they get called out they run home to momma.
When I was young, I had liberal views also, then I had children and my views changed and I started to think for myself. I have family members who are card caring dem libs and are some of the dumbest most selfish people I've ever met.
So there are good and bad in all groups. Just depends on whether you want an orderly law abiding society or out of control chaos.

I'll never understand the mentality of refusing to read or listen to an opposing viewpoint. Seems like willful ignorance. Too much of that on both sides of politics these days.

Since everyone on this board has been freaking out about articles in the Tennessean portraying our great university in a negative light I thought I might be able to shed some light about the people that are writing the stories, their backgrounds, political views, etc.. as well as the attorney that is suing the university. I believe you will find this interesting to say the least.

All information contained below can be verified using google, twitter, Facebook, and linked in among other sources.

Liberalism is a mental disorder. That is all I have to say about that. As opposed to freaking out about what the Tennessean says considering the sources of all this "news" and the source of the Lawsuit I think I will wait for the FACTS to come out because the sources sure as hell aren't very credible in my opinion. This bunch looks like they planned all this out to Smear UT at their weekly community organizing meeting.

Spring practice starts in 2 weeks. Go Vols!!

One thing I might had forgotten to mention earlier concerning disagreement with your thread title. Specifically, the use of the word, "Breaking". That implies information that should be considered surprising or unknown. The Tennessean's hatred for UT is neither. It is a well known fact here.

Can you point me to where I bashed a liberal? You can't, so please stop with the strawmen. Since you obviously struggle with reading comprehension, allow me to help you. He need not attack all in order for me to defend one, is that easy enough to digest, champ? I simply articulated why conservatives, in general, react a certain way to a set of circumstances (or at least was my attempt). As for the use of irony...
a state of affairs or an event that seems deliberately contrary to what one expects and is often amusing as a result.
Given my perception of the pulse of America, him using uncultered as an adjective to describe conservatives would in fact be "contrary to what one (me) expects and was amusing. Hence the use of the word ironic. Don't worry, that lesson in English was pro bono. :dance2:

So when you started to "think for yourself", is that when you came up with the term "Libturd", cause that screams out thinker.

My lord how hilarious is this; the guy that built a strawman to tear down and even admits he did tells me not to use a strawman....that I didn't even do.

He asked you not to blanket bash liberals, and you proceed with:

whenever conservatives attempt to demonstrate culture, they are labeled racists/bigots/xenophobes/homophobes/sexists and then civilly sued for the next handful of years

Pray tell who are you claiming "they" are in this example? Pray tell how you're not making a blanket judgement on "they" and pray tell how it's not negative.

As far as the English "lesson", I hate to break it to you, but just because something seems "ironic" to you doesn't mean it actually is or that you're using the word correctly.

Or why he brought up the fact that one is a Cubs fan. Very odd.

That is a good question. First because it is true and 2nd because all the cubs fans that I know have one thing in common. They would rather climb a tree and tell a lie than stand on the ground and tell the truth. In their mind that is the only way that they can win the big game.

I'm certain it isn't true for all of them just an observation that I have made from personal experience. edit..this isn't a dig at all cubs fans just the ones that I personally am acquainted with.
