firing him and his staff today and it cost 14 mil..2 mil more than FL. They should have STARTED working behind the scenes when we struggled with UMASS and got the breaks beat off with GA.

Few people have a clue how to evaluate a problem and come to the right conclusion. Most who try just start tinkering without thinking - shotgun approach vs anything remotely analytical. Read any internet "how to" forum for a laugh sometime - the dark age mystics and religionists had nothing on a lot of these guys.

Remember a couple of years ago all the "we botched it with Butch and FL got it right with McElwain" posts?

LOL I thought those posts were stupid back then too.

But you're right, there are too many armchair coaches in this fanbase (and really any fanbase)

Just adding to the rumors.. but living in North GA, I’ve heard several accounts of Trevor Lawrence mentioning interest in UT if Gruden gets the job. That would bring in a whole new class of recruits. I’ve seen the kid play in person.. he’s on a whole new level

I am not certain anyone on this board knows exactly if or how long the AD has been working behind the scene our coaching situation. Those that may have real insight probably are smarter than posting it out here, could result in no more inside information.
