This is the first I had heard regarding Dooley decision already being made. Hart has obviously made a strong push for the HR hire. This offer is strong and shows UT is serious.
Why? He won a SuperBowl.
In 2002. With Tony Dungy's Players. In 10 years he finished at or below .500 five times. Would that be acceptable at Tennessee? He has no proven success on the college level and is a gamble hire at best.

"With Tony Dungy's players" is pretty stupid, IMO. It's not like Dungy recruited them...
Gruden would have good recognition with recruits, and that would be huge. He would be able to assemble a killer staff. He would get the fanbase excited, and sell tickets.
Above .500 in the playoffs tells me something.
