BREAKING: Cuonzo to Cal

Confirmed that Zo left town without even speaking to the players. A team meeting was called at 12:30 to inform them, without Zo being there at all.

Wow, would think he would have more class than that. I could see it with Kiffin or someone of that ilk, but not Cuonzo.

Because he left a school with a bunch of idiotic ungrateful fans who wanted him gone? How is that classless. You and I and everyone here would have done the same thing.

Really !!! In 3 years I have seen CCM teams lose to teams that CBUZZ Peterman would have beat .

Pretty sure he couldn't, because he was already getting a picture made in Cal.

I doubt that pic was taken before today.

It's kinda strange but I don't feel that disappointed now that it's over. I was okay with moving forward with Cuonzo, but I'm also excited to see what kind of hire Hart will make.

Don't really blame him. His stock won't be any higher than it is now.

That being said, I'm not overly disappointed. I feel like this will save us some buyout money a couple of years down the road. I just hope the university goes out and gets a Greg Marshall type, a proven winner that the fanbase can get behind.

I know of a proven winner the canvass can get behind :)

Ungrateful? Sure the petition might have been an overreaction, but we were playing a sorry brand of basketball for the majority of the season. If there's anyone to blame, it's Martin and his players.

UT has confirmed that Cuonzo did NOT meet with players to tell them.

honestly even Lame Kiffen had a press conference, I think he told Jarnell to leave, he took a commitment and then told him to hold off until later in the week and then he said well I think I am just going to be pissed off and not really care about the 10 or so kids that are still on the team. I really hope those kids understand what just happened, that a father figure to them who is supposed to just stick together told no one and flew out to Berkley if true.

I'm telling you that petition will come back and bite in the ass if we don't land a decent coach. Butch better watch our if we have another 5-7 season out comes the petition. Coaching Search U!!!

It's the George Costanza "Leave on a high note" theory.

it's a smart business decision that financial advisors, attorneys and those close to a coach would discuss. The possibility of him being on the hot seat in 2 yrs at UT was very high. Get out now on a high note and at the peak of your resume, before having less value in a couple of years and heading back where you started or as an asst coach.
He's been trying to find a job and the contract hasn't been done because he and Hart both knew it was best for both to move on if possible.
It is what it is. But there will be a lot of emotion and drama to it. Knoxville isn't Illinois, and it isn't California either. Either that, or that petition shot a coach farther away from a job than anything in the history of the world ever has. Napolean thinks that's a long way to go to run away.

Easy bud, I was really just looking for an excuse to say mean things about that douchebag Scott Drew.

I am fine, you just cant highlight something I said take it out of context and then say he is a bad coach. You may be an Aggie fan on a Volunteer board, but honestly whatever you want to say, you would take his last 5 seasons in a heartbeat.
