Just kidding. Its where the muscle severly weakens from non use. His cast hasn't been on long enough for that to happen

what does atrophied mean?

When you don't use a muscle/body part over a long period of time it's strength declines / wastes away. It takes time to build it back up.

Tri beat me to it. And he's right about the cast not being on long enough, as well as it only being a thumb.

I don't know if anyone has said this yet, but Dooley announced in his press conference that Bray's cast was coming off today. They are going to evaluate the strength of his thumb and X-ray the bone. If the bone is healed and Bray can grip the football firmly and without excruciating pain they will move him along to a cat scan. If that checks out he will be cleared to play. Dooley did indicate that they would once Bray was cleared the coaches would evaluate his actual performance in practice before starting him. I think we will most likely see him for the Kentucky game.

Personally, I say if we loose the Arky & Vandy games, there is not need to get him back for UK, unless not being the 1st coach in 26 years to lose to UK means anything.:)

I was hoping he said that he threw it around with Da'Rick today and was ready to play vs Arkansas. Wishful thinking I guess lol

Pretty sure its Hippa. Although I'd love to hear more about these hippo regulations you speak of.

Its a running joke from the off season when players got rushed to the hospital, and people were upset that the school wouldn't violate the hippo.

Got it. I was a making a lame attempt at a joke of the hippo thing earlier. I'll go back to my corner now.

No doubt about it. I broke my throwing hand (thumb) & I was out for 4 weeks. When I finally got cast out, it was stiff & of course I wasn't 100 of holding the ball like you want to. I'm sure you know that the thumb is very imporant to hold & able to throw better. I think it's very chance for Bray to come back against Vandy, but he might play last season against Kentucky Wildcats.

So the cast is off now. Does anyone know how it's looking?

We should know by Dooley's presser tomorrow morning following practice. Of course we could know sooner if we see Tyler on the field taking snaps tomorrow...one can only hope.:crossfingers:

Also to address those saying that he has lost strength in that thumb, according to Dooley he should only be dealing with some stiffness from not moving it. Its not like he is going to have to rebuild his...thumb muscles...

Oh and back to what I was saying earlier, I would also keep an eye on Tyler's twitter account.

What are the realistic chances he plays against Arkansas even if Worley starts the game?
