Bray...

That would be making them all 2-3 years older, 30-40 pounds heavier and improving footwork and awareness greatly. We are simply not good up front. The playcalling needs to be adjusted accordingly. Bray succeeded against Memphis and Ole Miss squads with bad secondaries and poor pass rushing and a lot of our offensive success has come from deep plays.

And you were right, punt returns are our biggest TO risk. Bray is right behind.

We gave Vandy the ball 3 times and they kept it close until late in the 4th. We do that against a team that is even slightly better, such as Kentucky, and it's going OT, or worse, result in a L.

Obviously Bray's picks are not what you want to see, but try to keep things in perspective. You are making it seem like he is just out there slinging it into triple coverage Brett Favre style. He had two picks while trying to throw to a fellow freshman and getting blitzes by a Mike both times untouched. I've seen All American QB's make throws that were just as bad under less pressure than Bray saw tonight. I think your outlook might be a little more rosey if a few of his long plays hadn't been wiped out by penalties and there weren't so many drops by veteran receivers.

They weren't big field position turn overs either, so I guess if you have to have a turn over we'd rather them be on their side of the field. The punt muffs are always on our side, but Milo is right in the sense that decent teams would have more than likely capitalized on our turnovers.

Conceded somewhat, but there are some guys out there that are game managers. Bray is not that kind of QB.

I went back and watched some Kentucky footage, and we *might* be able to run on them. We will need some home runs, though, preferably on the ground. Time to get Poole back to his big run self.

IMO Tyler will be fine against Kentucky....Vandy gained over 200 rushing on them last week and they have allowed at least 140 against everybody except Akron and SC...If UT can get going on the ground, play action will absolutely kill them before the night is over...Hard to stop UT's receivers if you don't get deep drops in the secondary...And the Wildcats have been guilty of looking into the backfield WAY too much on play action so far...If anything, Tyler might just set his career high in yardage and TD's if the guys can catch what he tosses....JMO :wink2:

Much, much sense here.

GBO and myself were saying the same things after the Ole Miss game, only to be hounded, and only to be proven Right as Rain yesterday.

Dooley suggested he won't play a return against KY. He also said the running game "just stinks." I've got a feeling, it's the same game plan next weekend.

Let's hope the same ol' KY shows up next weekend.

Would love to see this happen. He may have to get his career high because I think our defense is going to be hurting.

For those who don't watch much football I will let you in on a secret. The QB is alway's the biggest turnover risk on the field. Even Manning has the most turnovers on his team! 12tds to 5ints what is everyone getting excited about. He is a freshman, there will be growing pains and rough games. With our recievers we should always go deep. We are playing much better then that team qb'ed by simms, the team that was trying to manage the game with 1 big run a game, or the joke of a team that went 0-a lifetime on 3rd down. Keep doing your thing Tyler you are going to be fine!

On the first, it was a decent ball, JH stopped on his route and also didn't jump for the ball. TB threw high just in DB broke early. JH never jumped and the rest is history. Who's fault? Don't know but you will get this out of freshman.

On the second: I don't know what he did, he did have pressure and looked as if he flicked the ball with his wrist. Never was on a string like most his throws.

It looked like they were opening the playbook a bit on Vandy. But, with no consistent run game, it will continue to grow in difficulty for Bray.

Let's go Vols! Be cheering you on from Section P.

The O line in my mind was the biggest problem last night. They weren't interested in blocking anyone or run blocking for anyone. They play like that next week, Kentucky will force Bray into some of those same mistakes. The run game is lacking.

I hope to see a lot of shotgun and easy 5-10 yard routes next weekend.

I don't. I hope we gash them deep. We have receivers that are bigger faster and stronger than their secondary. We have to use that to our advantage. We don't have to do it every down, but we have to make them respect it.

There were a lot of deep routes for a QB that was unsettled.

No the game wasn't fun to watch. The outcome of the game was never really in question either. We had one TD called back, one dropped and a PI call that kept points off of the board.

A 14 point win against an SEC opponent is about the best you can ask of this team.

Agree 100%. Penalties kept us fro scoring 2 to 3 TD's. Two interceptions did not help either. Perfect game for Bray to learn from making mistakes.

Threads like these are the reason some of us stay away from the boards more than ever before.
The kid's 3-0 has 12 TDs to 3INTs and has ignited an excitement in the fanbase that's been missing since January. STFU already...:banghead2:
